Sam Bradford has been sacked 120 times in 49 career games and on 6.4% of his career drop backs.

And if those numbers are correct, it makes me wonder if the guy can avoid a sack? I know many early were with a poor Oline, but is some of it that his decision making is slow and the game is too fast for him? Can he make split decisions? It's never good to develop happy feet, but does he have the quickness to avoid a sack? And from what I've seen, I would say no.

Lot of variables when you throw out stats.

Anyone else worried that Bradford will play well enough this season ( since he's playing for an extension ), gets that extension, and then reverts to injury prone/mediocre Bradford afterwards?

It's the Mark Sanchize syndrome. Play just well enough to provide the illusion you are on the doorstep to greatness, get the team to sign you to a contract extension, and then you show who you were all along while collecting ridiculous jack and leaving your team in a terrible position.

I have been worried about this. He played well enough in those seven games last year before injury to get the nod this year. I wonder where they will set the standard for an extension.

Just my opinion but I never had any confidence in Sam Bradford. To me he looked like a deer in the headlights. Bobby Brady has to go, if the Rams get rid of him they're making the right decision. Nothing against the guy personally, I just haven't see him show me anything. He's got fear written all over him in pocket.

I think Bradford will be hobbled and the RAMS will get rid of him. The Bradford Experiment is over. He just can't pull the trigger when needed. Now he has a bum leg. I say trade our 2nd round pick for Kirk Cousins. I think the guy might be a Drew Brees type of player given the playing time. So the RAMS still will get no.2 and 13 in the first round then solve our QB problem in the 2nd.

Well the Rams have sort of drawn the line in the sand with their pronouncement that to date, they are not picking up his extension. Sort of provides an inside look at where the franchise has decided to go IF Sammie doesn't turn things around along with the Rams providing good to great talent to give him every opportunity to make that happen.

Yes most of you Bradford supporters do make excuses. Look back at my post... There are a few questions in there and 1 statement that's my opinion.

But if you think Bradford has been good at avoiding sacks, then I don't know what to tell you. The excuse for you all is "his line has been poor".. Well, I agreed to that early in his career but he's certainly had a pretty decent Oline the past few seasons.

I suspect we'll be stuck with the Bradford experiment for one more year yet. Problem is what do we do next year when we definitively know that Bradford isn't the answer? We probably won't have a high draft pick to choose one of the QBs coming out then. If we can get Cousins for a 2nd rd. pick its a gamble. But we are gambling anyway going into the season with the likes of Clementine and also-rans at backup. If Bradford gets hurt again, which is always a distinct possibility with him, we go from the frying pan right to the fire. As QBs come off the board on draft day, Cousin's value is only going to go up. Maybe Washington would take a little less than a 2nd for him this early.

It maybe a moot point by then but if we take Johnny football IMHO our QB needs are fixed. Not a popular opinion but thats my take. I just see us in the same position as the steelers even now lamanting why did we pass on Marino? But as I say it may all be a moot point he maybe gone.

if all we need is a qb to complete ourselves next year, then they should trade up by all means.

Bortles seems to be moving up the boards as the 1st QB to potentially be picked. One thing is for sure, the Rams have a lot of options in this draft. It's like navigating a minefield--so many ways to go, with no guarantees.

I will have no problem if the Rams pick Manziel or Bortles with the No. 2 overall pick!

In that order if one is gone.

I know even some of the Bradford haters would cringe at this....

Yeah Bortles is the most gifted physically of all the QBs. I was originally high on Bridgewater, but I think I'd prefer Bortles now at this point. He's raw, but he definitely has the physical gifts.

IDK Johnny football seems to be doing pretty darn well at the combine and he seems to have his tude in check.

I really doubt the Rams draft a QB at this point. If they don't draft Clowney, I actually hope they trade out of the spot with maybe the Browns or Falcons. I think they can still get a great player at 4th or 6th and maybe get a substantial pick for the trade. Today more than ever before the way to build a team is through the draft, with the rookie pay scale in effect.

I agree we have many options. This draft is very deep and we have some serious needs. A trade down or BPA is OK with me. But if Johnny is BPA I say take him. Clowney is fine seems to be a beast. Or a stud WR. No one seems to be on the OL bandwagon yet but there are some good ones out there. Gotta keep Sam upright.

I'm sure it was mentioned but I didn't read all of the reponses but it case it wasn't. Fisher was on the radio lqast week calling those reports bogus.
