Am betting it's blacked out because even though it is a delayed telecast ... TXA21 had the local coverage which includes all of TX, OK, AR, LA and east half of NM. Fact that they only televised it locally in the metroplex is irrelevant. Stupid MLB blackout rules.

Me thinks you be right. To be honest Hanson has earned it so far. It is very possible if he continues to pitch well and Harrison who I feel good about and Colby who I am on the fence about both come back strong may end up staying in as one of the starting 5 moving Ogando to the pen. I say that because Ogando would be more effective in the pen than Hanson would be not because one would be a better starter over the other.

Hanson, Saunders, Ross, Scheppers are all competing for the final 2 spots.
(Harry & Colby will start in AAA and HOPEFULLY be ready by mid-late April)


I would assume Saunders makes it (he's looked decent enough). Hanson is a toss up.

An article in the paper stated that he may miss opening day. Choice may be DH opening day.

And Ross and Scheppers (and almost Kirkman) have pitched better than both of them. What's your point?
They're too valuable in the bullpen though, so I dont see both of them making it. Maybe 1 of the 2 though.

As for Hanson/Saunders...
Hanson has an option left and can be sent down... whereas Saunders does not have a minor league stip in his contract.

We're talking depth here.

Assuming Choice makes the 25 man - there was a good possibility he was going to start as the DH anyways. Whether Mitch is/was hurt or not... (since Lee is a LH).

Thats not the way you phrased it, "Saunders pitched well enough and Hanson is a toss up"

Time to make a decision. He can't play injured and has not been very good when healthy. I have always defended him but the time comes when he needs to give way to someone like Choice or anyone who makes the team better.
