Totally disagree. I say again, there's a time and place. Frankly, Lewis had a much better chance of hitting him than striking him out.

If ST isn't a place to set the example then we've got the wrong example setter, and I don't think Colby is anything, if not a standup, lead by example player.

Lewis doesn't have a great chance of striking anyone out, except maybe Gallo, and that's my hesitation. Why have a pitcher, who gives up lots of HRs and doesn't get alot of strike outs, give free bases away?

You didn't have an opinion on this guy - either with his baseball abilities or his mouth - until last season did ya? How could you? He's played all of 89 total ML contest until last year. Yet you know he's a prick based on one year, but you won't label him as a good player based on the same one year of evidence.

Like I said, I'm not fan, but let's be somewhat fair here.

He's a prick, because he wears a fucking ducktail/mullet.

Gotta love Saltalamacchia's sense of humor .

"New Miami Marlins catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia’s comments about the Boston Red Sox, his former team, sounded familiar Thursday. But there was nothing serious about them.

“I hope they go 0-162,” Saltalamacchia told reporters during spring training yesterday. “Now they're all sleazeballs."

Saltalamacchia, of course, was joking and had a smile on his face as he said it.

It's spring training. Who gives a Fuck? Also, Colby is known as a strikeout pitcher btw.

I can tell if someone's a prick in 10 minutes. I don't need 162 games. That comparison is a stretch.

But, we're trying to send messages in ST?

Perhaps, he was a strikeout pitcher, time will tell going forward.

What better time to send a message to a mouthy prick?

Honestly I've never seen him do or say anything to suggest he's a prick, I only know of that perception b/c of people on this board, but I'll certainly pay more attention in the future

I don't think it sends a message other than 'you got under my skin.' Which is probably exactly what a mouthy prick aims to do.

He's always mouthing and very cocky on the field after 1 year. Pay attention, you'll see and hear it.

OK....I'll give ya this one. But he's still a pretty good ball player based on a limited sample size of one full year.

You might want to check your stats again before saying Colby Lewis is not a pitcher who gets a lot of strikeouts. He has a career K/9 of 7.63. That's definitely in the mid to upper levels of starting pitchers as far as strikeouts go. If you just take his stats over his last few seasons as a Ranger, his K numbers are even better, almost 1 per inning. This notion that he can't strike anyone out now is quite far from reality.

As jta said, he just needs to work on finding consistency with his new stride and he will be fine.
