I take it Tepesch has not pitched well?

Not well enough. Starting in AAA is probably best for him. That way he can continue to work and be ready when we need him.

Hanson, Saunders, Ross, Scheppers are all competing for the final 2 spots.
(Harry & Colby will start in AAA and HOPEFULLY be ready by mid-late April)

I would assume Saunders makes it (he's looked decent enough). Hanson is a toss up.

I was just about to say that JD made it seem like Tanner would be in the pen yesterday, then Bacsik said on the radio that he heard he might be slotted as the #3 starter. I think he'll be in the pen where he should be IMO

2 games today for anyone that was unaware. Ogando starts the 2nd one and it's being televised on the MLB network at 9:00 CT.

At least most can watch on MLB.

According to EG, Mitch is going to likely start the season on the DL.
Evan Grant @Evan_P_Grant Follow Yes that's what I said a few moments ago RT @rangermad: @Evan_P_Grant Are you expecting Moreland to go on the DL?

I read about his oblique injury earlier, but didn't post anything because they said it's not serious. This could actually be a blessing in disguise. I like Mitch and know what h's capable of, but Choice deserves an opportunity. Let's see what the kid can do against one of the top lefties in the game.

Mitch got his injury out of the way early.

Totally agreed, glad Choice is going to get a chance to play regularly to start out the year

And they will get to hold onto Beltre a little longer

Keith LAw didn't pull any punches in regards to Kinsler in naming Profar a potential breakout candidate

"The No. 1 prospect in baseball heading into 2013, Profar spent most of the season in the majors but got only intermittent playing time because the Rangers had to placate the whiny veteran they had at second base. That veteran is now in Detroit, lobbing verbal bombs at the organization that paid him $15 million last year to block its best prospect, so Profar has the second-base job all to himself. His true talent level wasn't that of a .280 BABIP guy -- his figure in 2013 -- and he is a year stronger as well. I see .280/.345/.400 this year with above-average glovework at second."

Are they playing now?

Yeah.
Its split squad today. @ MIL is going on now (with the below lineup)

Choo dh,
Wilson 6,
Chirinos 2,
Guzman 3,
Lillibridge 5,
E. Beltre 9,
Martin 8,
Rosales 4,
Snyder 7,

M. Perez 1

Engel bunted for a hit... then, once on the bases, makes an out for taking too wide of a turn on a single to right. -_-

Followed up by a missed fly ball b/c he wasnt wearing sunglasses.........

Perez was looking/sounding GREAT... till the fifth. But alot of that was poor defense. :L

So, who's going to be the backup 1B for Fielder? Kouz/Adduci/Cheerios? Tough call there

Good question. Not seen much of Adduci at 1st. Could go with Kouz because he has more experience but Cheerios (Ha) has been hot.

I thought Addcci played some 1st last year. Can't be for sure. Cheerio makes three catchers. Little unusual. Kouz playing ok. Yep a tough pick.

Kouz adds the added bonus of playing 3rd, but Chirinos is hitting really well
