Before any dumbfuck responds, I know Texas sucks, the LHN ruined the Big 12, Mack Brown must be fired and we do less with more. Did I forget anything?

Think that pretty much covers it!

I'm sure the style of offenses in the league plays some part in it. I also think straight up defensive talent is part of the issue. No collegiate team is THAT good on defense, in the big twelve or elsewhere. Some teams might have one or two impact players and the rest of the guys just weren't good enough to play offense. This is endemic in the entire sport, from pros to pee wee, too much focus on offense and scoring.

We simply aren't going to see dominant defensive teams like we used to from the likes of the 90's Nebraska, Florida State, Miami, and Virginia Tech, or the more recent Southern Cal, LSU, and Alabama teams.

OK, I'll get back to the point Exes,

Show me 4-6 offenses in the Big XII that are as explosive as A&M. I'll give you Baylor. They are leading the NCAA in total offense. Outside of that, the Big XII doesn't have an offense in the top 25 for total yards/game. The next highest offense is Tech at #26 and they average 100 yards less per game than A&M. You will also find that Georgia (#16) and Missouri (#17) are in the top 25 offenses for total yards.

So, where are these 4-6 teams that make the entire Big XII defenses look bad?

Don[t be a dumbass. I'm talking about throughout the years. Your Aggies were getting raped on defense every year in the Big 12 and returned 9 starters from the same shitty defense in '11 that gave up over 400 yds per game and 28 ppg. In your 1st year in the SEC, your defense shined, due to playing all of those god awful offenses. In fact, the only real offense you guys faced last year, thoroughly raped your defense for 57 pts ande over 600 yds of offense and they weren't in your conference. Yes, we all know what you did to an average OU team in the Cotton Bowl last year, but you had well over a month to prepare for that game, not to mention, OU already had 2 losses going into that game.

This thread is an excuse thread. The teams in the B12 have sucky Ds at this time, had some good ones in the past, but not now. Has nothing to do with the conference, they just suck.

Until TExas and OU get back to their traditional defensive standards the Big 12 will be the butt of jokes. It is that simple. If your "big dogs" are not carrying the banner, than nobody is going to pay attention.

There it is folks, the Georgia fan has defined the Longhorn program. It's very funny how the same statements can be made about Georgia, except the LHN. Could you imagine a Georgia network? Neither could ESPN:laugh3:

Next time I will try to use the sarcasm font. Forgot you Texas folks don't even read the OP, just jump in all butthurt and get defensive. Before you start posting, go read the first post.

We aren't arrogant enough to think we can have our own network. We will work as a team with our conference brethren.

By the way, you are right ... the "you do less with more" could be a very apt saying for UGa. That said, I like where we are right now as a program. Texas? Not so much.

We're trying to get back there...

Only allowed 27 pts total in three games so far. At this moment we're 14th in total defense.

The three teams we've played were:
ULM - 42nd
WVU - 10th
TU - 28th
Last year in FBS in total offense.

Anyone denying that the BigXII has been powerful offensively in the recent past is delusional.
Sam Bradford, Robert Griffin, Blaine Gabbert, Brandon Weeden, Landry Jones, Demarco Murray, Dez Bryant, Justin Blackmon, Cedric Benson, I'm sure I'm leaving out a few...

Anyone claiming that the BIG XII defenses have been stout in that same era are flat out lying.

......and UF had well over a month to prepare for OU's offense, major major difference. Let's not forget OU also had well over a month for UF's offense and held them 20 + points well below their scoring average, as UF was raping SEC defenses that year for 47 ppg and rolling over 450 yds per game. OU's defense wasn't even all that, but when you have well over a month to prepare, the defenses will shine the majority of the time in the BCS title game.

You aren't thinking through this very well. Sure, UF had a month to prepare, so you admit that an SEC team can prepare for the purported BigXII speed. Guess what ... if everyone in the SEC ran the hurry up offenses like you claim the BigXII does, we would have time to prepare for that, and our defenses would do just fine against them.

Hard to get excited about that list. Last yr is nice and all, but WV in 2013 is nothing like 2012 WV. Tulsa scored 7 vs Bowling Green. Lets give it sometime. I just do not he the Tommie Harris or Dan Codys over there right now.

Aren't y'all on the same side of this argument?

He is bound by the burnt orange brotherhood to naysay and poopoo any good thing said about OU.

I respect that.

However, the burnt orange brotherhood wouldn't know a good offense unless it was on the other side of DKR/RRR Cotton Bowl.

You Tammies have a decent offense. And you have a rat-clawed ugly little shit-talker that pulls magic out of his Gypsy ass.

every year? You want to talk about "throughout the years" and throw "every year" on there? We were in the Big12 when I was in school, and the Wrecking Crew was kicking ass and taking names, sir.

The only real offense we faced? All we heard for a month leading up to the Cotton Bowl was about how the high powered Big12 offense was going to school us. Then those threads stopped one day...until they got bumped. Now it was an "average OU team".

A decent offense????

So, A&M finished in the top 5 for total offense last year and is currently #2 int total offense this year and its just decent?

PS. As a Steelers fan, I saw Landry Jones in the preseason. To borrow a quote from Buddy Ryan. "Trade that guy for a six-pack and it doesn't even need to be cold."

You've played Rice and a FCS school. Don't think your competition level is up to snuff at this point. Heck, Alabama was out-rushed and out-passed against VT! You're not Georgia. You haven't won anything yet.

"...And you have a rat-clawed ugly little shit-talker that pulls magic out of his Gypsy ass."

Without Johnny Scumbag, your team wouldn't be where it is. Agree? He's directly responsible for 1137 of of texas a&m's 1828 total offensive yardage, and that's with missing a half of one game. It was 28-21 at halftime of the Rice game...correct?

He was good enough to beat yall a couple of times I guess...the first time as a freshman...remember 65-10? I guess that means he must be a little better than Johnny O' ArkansasTravleler.

I give you guys props for beating us like a drum last year. But if you haven't figured it out by now, our down years are 8 and 10 win seasons.

...and we own dat sweet TAMmy ass.

Texas A&M football - a rich, winning tradition since 2012!

And he got his ass whipped by a freshman last year and a Jr. (Tannehill) in 2010. Guess that makes ole LJ 2-2 vs. A&M.

As for A&M's level of competition, they just played the #1 team in the country. What's the best team OU has played this year? West Virgina? Where is OU's high powered offensive numbers?

OU was whipping A&M's assback in the early 2000s regularly but do you remember 2002? When OU was ranked #1 and looked to have the inside track to the National Championship game. Well, they did until they came to Kyle Field and left with an embarassing loss to a shitty A&M team.
