Think about this. We are talking about him....every time he speaks he gets plastered on the top of nfl.com and espn.com "sherman said this ...sherman said that....he was on the cover of SI, he has his own column on si.coms mmqb

Without Sherman doing that he doesn't get that publicity. He plays in Seattle. The east coast bias media doesn't cover Seattle the same way it does other teams. Perfect example.... the best Safety in Football.....Earl Thomas also plays in Seattle... never talks.... doesn't get mentioned on these boards. I bet most of you dont even know who he is....he's made all pro the last two years....doesn't get talked about on espn, doesn't get quoted or talked about at all......

I see your point, it's not really a sport, it's entertainment, and Sherm certainly is that, if the paparazzi was all up my ass I would probably feel the same. With everyone hanging on your every word, tweet, whatever, it's just a way different world THAN the "OLD SCHOOL". I don't think the east coast bias has anything to do with it.

Sherman likes to smack talk, no Seahawk fan would argue that. The question is does having a big mouth= being a bad guy? That a matter of opinion, believe me even Seahawks fans are divided on this question.

Many posters would say let your game speak for itself and that's fine to a point, but being a fan that likes to hear from players. I gotta say I would much rather listen to a Richard Sherman interview then a Russell Wilson interview. Man, it would be boring if every player and every coach just said the safe non controversial stuff and so many do just that.

I have seen nothing to give evidence that he is a bad guy. He just talks smack and can be a little over the top. Not my cup of tea, but to each their own.

In case anyone was not on ESPN boards, Breaker is definitely the poster Supersbowllol. He used to toll the Hawks board relentlessly. He probably had more posts than any Hawks fans. His fall back was that he is a retired millionaire and had enough time to post constantly. To his credit, he is very good at trolling. He knows how to post just enough BS to rile people up. Just so everyone knows to not get trolled.

Oh I get why non Seahawks fans may not like him. As for is he the best? I have yet to see a thread about who's the best that didn't go on and on. He's in the conversation and that's good enough for me.

Outside of his charity softball game and other fund raisers that get press, he regularly visits kids in need and does other things on the down low that he doesn't like to talk about. His works are more of who he really is than what you see in his sound bites.

I hate his trash talking in the media and things like when he went up to Brady after the NE game last year, but there is plenty of film of his other side that few outside of Seattle gets to see. Why? Because no one in the rest of the country wants to hear the good stuff, they just want the trash and fighting. That stuff sells ad space.

Did you see his SB coverage? He has a sense of humor and doesn't take himself that seriously, so why do you? Oh right, he is on the enemy team so you have to hate him right? :rollseyes:

When I was watching the top 100 player interviews of opposing players talking about the rated guys. Sherman was very complimentary of several 49ers. Most notably Kaepernick and Vernon Davis. He clearly has it in him. At times I feel like I am starting to like the guy, then he does something totally obnoxious. He makes it hard to like him. I am sure you can see that.

I never suggested he was well liked across the league. I was simply pointing out that despite others telling you he really does help out several big causes you still chided him and said he did it only for the cameras which shows a bit of an agenda. Of course we understand it. As I've said, I don't like his mouth either. I'm not sure whether it makes me less irritated by it knowing it's just an act or more so. At least T.O. you knew was really an asshole.

Sherm gives a lot back to the community and never turns fans away. Hell, he will carry on a conversation with you on twitter even as a 49er fan if you care to. He has made the most of his shtick and is cashing in with endorsements. You can't turn on the radio without one of his Centry Link ads up here that start with him saying "you mad? You mad at your current cable provider?". And he has at least a half dozen others.

The problem with CB's is the better they are the less you hear about them on the field unless they get a pick. If you are hearing about a CB that didn't get one they are probably messing up. His act gets old, but everyone is talking about him and that's why he does it. Lame, but he is cashing in on it.

Who cares if he talks smack? Everyone talks smack to some degree in competition. Don't compare this to a school or work assignment. This is sports and games. It's SUPPOSED to be FUN. If one doesn't like someone talking trash then do something to silence it. I swear some of you take this way to seriously and act like stick-in-the-muds. Seattle was only able to score one offensive TD at Houston and got outgained 476 yards to 270 and 29 first downs to 15 by the Texans

without Sherman, Seahawks likely lose 20-13 etc

with Sherman, a 58 yard INT return for TD to send it to OT where Seattle gets a game winning FG

So basically Matt Freaking Shaub lit Seattles secondary up all day but one horrible mistake by shaub to throw the ball while getting sacked and Sherman is all that? I am not saying sherman isn't a great cornerback, he is, but your logic is off to me. I have seen sherman make some amazing interceptions. That wasn't one of them. N
