I brought up his name because I went through this thread and saw his name mentioned a couple times so I thought I'd chime in. I mean, why not?

It's not like I went way off topic or anything... not sure why you're upset over this?

Some of these Seahawk fans are drinking steroid laced kool aid. I would probably feel the same way but its a little silly. Admittedly, they spanked us twice in a row at the Clink but I'll hang my hat on our defense for now. Kaep looked horrible Sunday and has looked pretty anemic both times against the Hawks.

This is a big win for them but the season is young. I wouldn't be making parade arrangements just yet.

Some of his more public antics:

Sherman vs Brady: Brady said some stuff leading up to the game that Sherman did not like. I can't remember the exact quote bit he said something like "We are going to make the 12th man boo their own team." Sherman took exception to this and talked smack to Brady. No problem for me, he didn't start it. Brady started it, then said see me after the game when Sherman responded. Sherman did see him after the game. However, I thought posting the U Mad Bro pic was unnecessary. He claims he did not post it in an SI article, said one of his friends did it on his account. I thought it was enough to win the game and see Brady after the game, he didn't need to try to demean him like that.

Sherman vs Skip: The Skip Bayless thing was a bit over the top. He is actually a very intelligent person and I thought he could have achieved his goal in a better way. If he had been calm and calculated and said "Skip, I don't repsect your opinion, so it doesn't matter that you have never heard of me. I think you are a sensationalist journalist and not good at your job," I would have liked it better. He came off as angry and a bit unstable, which is not. However, by all accounts skip is a douche, and so it did not go over too badly.

Sherman vs. Revis: This is the one that I fault Sherman the least for. In a twitter conversation someone asked him who the best CB's were. He left revis off the list, and when asked why, said that he was injured. He said when he gets healthy he'll be at the top again. Revis took this as a major slight and went off on Sherman on twitter, and Sherman defended himself. Then, three months later, Revis goes on a rant about Sherman saying Sherman needs to stop comparing himself to me. Huh? Sherman hasn't talked aobut you in months and compared himself to you when you went mental because he left you off his list because you had a season ending injury. Nothing Sherman did here bothered me. I also found his Super bowl video very funny.

Sherman vs Megatron: Renamed himself Optimus Prime for a matchup against the best receiver in the game. Never understood why anyone made a big deal about this.

Sherman vs Trent Williams: After the game, Tent came over and open fist punched Sherman in the face. Sherman did not retaliate, and even accepted Williams apology. He tweeted out "Received a very classy text from @TrentW71. Great player! This is an emotional game no ill will either way. Have a great Pro Bowl! Well deserved.”

Sherman vs White: I don't know how this one started. Sherman may have started this one saying white was not very good. I don't know how it started, but Sherman had a chance to take a shot at white again on NFL network and said "WHite is entitled to his opinion and it's a good rivalry."

Sorry for the long post, but my point is that people exaggerate how terrible Sherman is. Sherman has certainly spoken his mind and stirred things up, but nobody seems to care when he is classy (trent Richardson) or funny (revis), or when he is simply standing up for himself/team. Except for against Roddy white, it was the other guy who started things and Sherman just responded and took it up a notch. I know I am not going to change anyone's mind on him, but to pretend he is always stirring things up for no reason is inaccurate.

For all the ones that dont like his talk, say act like youve been there before stuff.

Think about this. We are talking about him....every time he speaks he gets plastered on the top of nfl.com and espn.com "sherman said this ...sherman said that....he was on the cover of SI, he has his own column on si.coms mmqb

Without Sherman doing that he doesn't get that publicity. He plays in Seattle. The east coast bias media doesn't cover Seattle the same way it does other teams. Perfect example.... the best Safety in Football.....Earl Thomas also plays in Seattle... never talks.... doesn't get mentioned on these boards. I bet most of you dont even know who he is....he's made all pro the last two years....doesn't get talked about on espn, doesn't get quoted or talked about at all......

Yeah dude, no one knows who Earl Thomas is.... arguably the best FS in the game. This whole need for attention by seattle is kind of humorous. Win a super bowl or two and you will get all the attention you deserve.

For two years that is what you have said to us Seahawk fans about everything, you and juice and that other troll would post non stop on the board daily with this nonsense to the point we could not even discuss what was going on with the team, you are a broken record Supers.

Are you kidding me? This is complete seahawk homer revisionist history. Tom Brady said they needed to take the 12th man out of the game by stopping Seattle early. Then during the game when sherman was talking non stop trash all brady said was "see me after the game". So going up and saying to brady, here I am after the game... nothing wrong with that. But he didn't stop there. He went on posted a bunch of stuff on twitter including a picture of Tom Brady with "U Mad Bro?" written on it.

If you are going to seriously say that anything Tom Brady did or said deserved that kind of off field trash talking you are insane.

The Skip Bayless incident, although kind of funny, was disturbing as well. Is Shermans ego so fragile that he needs to take on a douche like skip bayless on tv like that?

The revis thing is just a long list of Sherman discrediting players who are very good players. He did the same thing when he called AJ Green "nothing but noise and bad routes", and to others like Roddy White as well.

I agree on the megatron thing... the optimus prime thing was kind of funny. Except..... Johnson was named Optimus Prime by his teamates out of respect, Sherman annointed himself "Optimus Prime". Again, ego issues.

Roddy White... Yeah Sherman said Roddy White didn't deserve a spot on the top 100 players. Apparently he was offended that White was ranked higher than he was. He called White an "easy matchup" before the playoff game in which the seahawks were eliminated and White burned him for a TD, literally leaving Sherman on his ass. Although other than that Sherman did do a good job on him. But to call Roddy White an easy matchup? EGO ISSUES!!!

What is interesting to me about Sherman, is that he can be a very calm and collected guy at times. I have watched interviews with him when he was delightful to listen to and I really enjoyed it. But something is clearly wrong with him in the head, he needs to be an underdog at all times and feel like he is the one who is slighted and has something to prove. So its interesting that he slights everyone else around him to create that tension and war of words to get to that place. Fragile ego in my opinion.

You must have me confused with someone else there doubledouche. Some of the most crude, obnoxious, and homophobic posts I have seen on this board were made by you. I have only been a member of this board since July.... two years of harassment? LOL. Ok buddy. And Juice is a moderator here, he is trolling your team board? That would be funny, but I doubt its true.

For once, I actually agree with Breaker (kind of). Why is it so important to Sherman that people pay attention to him or Seattle? Seattle has a great fan base, they sell out all their games and they have national exposure. At this point I think Seattle is one of the most talked about teams in the NFL and it is not because of Shermans mouth. It is because of great play on the field. And this nonsense that he is trying to market himself for a big payday is a bit far fetched. If he plays well he will get paid with or without the mouth. If he plays poorly, he doesn't get paid. Again, he is not marketing himself he is just being who he is.

I gotta say this whole thread sounds like a Sherman apologist session. There is no denying he is an arrogant big mouth who has mad skills. Let's just leave it at that.

You just repeated the things I said, except you glossed over the things that shed Sherman in a better light. In case anybody was not sure BREAKER IS SUPERSBOWLOL! supersbowl made the exact same argument about megatron on the seahawks board over and over. Literally, the exact same thing. Calvin Johnson was named Megatron out of respect...blah blah blah. Nobody else made this argument ever, so its not a coincidence. Supers, I am glad I found you out. Are you still a millionaire? Don't worry about replying, you have been ignored.

In case anyone was not on ESPN boards, Breaker is definitely the poster Supersbowllol. He used to toll the Hawks board relentlessly. He probably had more posts than any Hawks fans. His fall back was that he is a retired millionaire and had enough time to post constantly. To his credit, he is very good at trolling. He knows how to post just enough BS to rile people up. Just so everyone knows to not get trolled.

No, Cortland Finnegan is not better than Richard Sherman. You're high if you think he's a classy CB.

You wanna talk about old school? How about backing up what you say like Sherman does? Old school football players wouldn't bitch and whine about Sherman. They'd beat him to shut him up. I don't see anyone beating him so he's free to say what he wants.

You misread my friend, no offense.

And yes an OLD SCHOOL guy might/should come along and shut him up for a minute. Of course he is free to say what he wants, but that doesn't make it any less obnoxious.

Sherman likes to smack talk, no Seahawk fan would argue that. The question is does having a big mouth= being a bad guy? That a matter of opinion, believe me even Seahawks fans are divided on this question.

Many posters would say let your game speak for itself and that's fine to a point, but being a fan that likes to hear from players. I gotta say I would much rather listen to a Richard Sherman interview then a Russell Wilson interview. Man, it would be boring if every player and every coach just said the safe non controversial stuff and so many do just that.

Point is he goes after other players and tries to demean them routinely off the field. If the only alternative to that you can think of is only saying the "safe non controversial" thing..... if you dont think a middle ground exists... then you are simply being unrealistic because sherman is a player on the team you like.

You get that when you lead your team to the super bowl on your 10th NFL start more so when you name yourself Optimus Prime or decide publicly that AJ Green is "all noise and bad routes" or post derogatory pics of Brady on twitter.

I know its complicated stuff for you....

OH yeah, I am the first one ever to say that Sherman naming himself "Optimus Prime" is egotistical beyond measure.

Well speaking for myself, I find it funny to see guys like Tom Brady getting their noses tweaked. You down play what he was saying before the game, what he was saying was " I love coming into a vistors home field and turning the home crowd against their team" He's arrogant, but a little more savvy and subtle about delivering his insults.
