Patrick Peterson just won it for AZ. 2 Picks in the 4th quarter. I think he gives Sherman a run for his money as tops in the league. BTW- Fitz caught the game tying TD against Revis.

Patrick Peterson is a beast. Physically he's probably faster and more athletic than Sherman and more dynamic because he can be effective in the return game as well but I think coverage skills it's edge to Sherman.

I also like Joe Haden. Despite being short, the guy can really cover.

So basically Matt Freaking Shaub lit Seattles secondary up all day but one horrible mistake by shaub to throw the ball while getting sacked and Sherman is all that? I am not saying sherman isn't a great cornerback, he is, but your logic is off to me. I have seen sherman make some amazing interceptions. That wasn't one of them. N

A lot of those throws happened in the 1st half and to the TE's and Foster when the Seattle LB's were defending them. So no, Schaub didn't lit the Seattle secondary at all, it was still a great game by Johnson though. Much better than Boldin ;)

Spoken like a true hater.

He gets a key pick and avoids tackles to run it back for a TD when the team needed it the most. He does this on a regular basis. You do remember his pick against krapernick right?

Even the announcers in the game today said there has been no better corner over the last 9 games than RS. There is little doubt that by whatever measure you use RS is right now at the top. Will he stay there? Will we call him the best at the end of this season? Who knows, but right now today he is number one and there is really no debate.

I don't have any complaints about Boldins performance so far this year. And obviously you shouldn't about Sherman either.. but...

Andre Johnson had 9 receptions for 110 yards. Did you have linebackers covering their best WR?

Admit it, he torched you guys. If sherman is your best CB (and the best in the NFL?) shouldn't he have been shadowing him?

Before the game he said that the seahawks expect to hold a team to under 100 yards (i think he meant team anyway), anything more than that is disappointing... Johnson had over 100 by himself and the Texans had 325 passing yards. Thats lighting your "league best" secondary up.

Sherman is in the argument for best CB, that should be enough for any fan of his. Not to shaby for a fifth rounder.

Wow, you actually got some respect for me.

I simply have no issue naming Pat Willis the best ILB.

Understand the rivalry between Seahawks/49ers, but naming a player the best at his position should have nothing to do with rivalries... point being, I expected less of you.

I have a lot of respect for the seahawks secondary shark.

Even if they did struggle a little in Houston today.

Johnson got his 100 yards, but he had Sherman, Browner, and nickel CBs covering him. He wasnt exclusively covered by Sherman.

210 of Schaubs yards came from the TEs and RBs, which are typically covered by LBs, not the secondary.

That INT is so ridiculous. As I posted in some thread today... it would be ridiculous to see a Tecmo Super Bowl come out today with JJ Watt... it would be just as ridiculous to see Sherman. Haddix + Woodson = Sherman.

Nothing against a great CB like Sherman, but that was the play Vernon Davis pulled his hammie and if he didn't that probably would not have been an INT.

Can't stand him but he saved Russell Wilson and the Seahawks. I think that's 14 interceptions in his last 20 games. Not sure how many of those were pick 6's but that's pretty damn impressive.

I just wished he would learn that the word cretinendon is actually cretin. :finger:

That is one of the least impressive interceptions of richard shermans career. Shaub throws it right into triple coverage as he is about to take the sack (which he should have), adn right into Shermans chest.

A blind monkey could have caught that ball... Now I have seen sherman make amazing acrobatic catches, so this isn't a diss on him, just on using that interception as an example of why he is the "greatest".

What does a great interception look like?

Glad you asked....

And mostly, I credit the tip by Termain Brock. That was a thing of beauty. Whitner is not a good example overall of a defensive back who makes great INT's. Had one bounce of his chest that made him look like a "blind monkey" in that same game.

Although this ball is under thrown, this is a nice INT.... that took skill and athletic ability make...

But to me, what makes Sherman great isn't just his coverage ability, its his toughness at the line for such a great coverage guy... (notice how he jams Smith turns and is looking directly at Cam reading his eyes while staying step for step with Smith.... thats special)

Its the way he can jam a guy at the line and then still defend him down the field with ease...

Did you seriously just call 2 line backers 8 yards away from a play toward the numbers "triple coverage?"

:laugh3: Thanks for continuing to prove you know absolutely nothing about football

One last example of notable sherman INT that blows away that one vs the texans... Pretty sure that was Kolb throwing the ball, he was just trying to throw it away.... :nono:
