Well I don't know how valid this is because its from Chris Broussard but Kobe and his comments seem to be the main reason Howard decided to skip town. I'm pretty sure there will be more to come as they engage in a pissing contest because Kobe is sure to answer. :laugh3:

Dwight Howard wanted end to Kobe Bryant era with Los Angeles Lakers - ESPN Los Angeles

3 thoughts:

1) Everyone should just stop reading after the word "Broussard"

2) Sounds like media (especially ESPN) are just trying to gin up stories to give them something to talk about since its a dead time for sports (No basketball, no football, baseball heading to all star break)

3) Given Howard and his crew's actions over the last 2 to 3 years, I wouldn't believe anything any of them say. They've lost all creditability with waffling, backtracking, etc. They could tell me water is wet and I'd still go confirm it myself first.

Basically this is a long way of saying people shouldn't waste their time with stuff like this

I'll say this again.....doesn't matter what Kobe said, if Phil was the coach, he'd stayed. I blast Dantoni alot but I'll say ONE thing in his defense, Howard had no business refusing to run pick and roll. When you're the best roll guy in the league, pick and roll should atleast be something that you're willing to do

Shaq?Kobe feud - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lets keep it real. Kobe played the behind the scenes move to oust Phil and Shaq, and Kobe was not the leader at that time. Kobe even threw Shaq under the bus afterwards stating that unlike him, Shaq paid off his "ladies" in millions.

Kobe is very disliked by many players and coaches. Howard probably saw the dysfunctionality in LA we see, and saw Kobe was not changing into the altruistic Vet he expected. Dwight actually left money and LA . Wipe off the glasses and see the truth

Clearly, you need to read up on all the problems on the kobe-shaq beef.

Name these players and players that dont want to play with Kobe. Like someone said, if Howard wanted to to be the leader, then he shouldve showed it with his play, like every other leader has done. Stop making excuses for Howard. You probably been defending him these last 3 years too huh, making excuses?

Logic, get your fact straight. Phil Jackson said he wasn't coming back earlier the season that he left. And Shaq offending Dr. Buss is the reason he let him go. He wasn't paying him 30 million dollars for 3 years for a guy who would not even work to stay in shape. One thing for sure, Kobe never took personal stabs at Dr. Buss. And Dr. Buss was always forward looking. He knew Shaq wasn't the future of the franchise and Kobe was. And Shaq wasn't taking less money. If they had offered Shaq 30 million dollar for 3 years, he would still be there if Kobe was there.

Kobe is a selfish player who only cares about himself. The fact that at this stage of his career he doesn't want to take a pay cut is comical. He is the reason why the Lakers will not get another star/superstar on their team via free agency because no young player in their prime would want to come here and fight over the ball with him. The only way they get another top dog is through a trade.

Every athlete only cares about themselves. Do you honestly think BK that LeBron James gives a damn about you and other bandwagon Heat fans? Do you honestly think he gives a damn about anyone period? Hell he doesnt even care enough to find out who is real father is. Did he give a damn about the Cavs? No. You are one dumb S.O.B. BK.

He took a paycut to be surrounded with a better team.

Wade also took a paycut and went from batman to robin to be surrounded with a better team.

Kobe is a greedy guy who is approaching 40 years old and still want to make the most money and be the top dog.

What top player in the prime of their career would want to come into that situation?

There's nothing for you to explain. Kobe at this point in his career still doesn't want to take a minor pay cut nor does he want to move to the 2nd option on the team.

Good luck acquiring any top FA next year or 2015 as long as Kobe i on the roster. No one wants to play with a guy approaching 40 who still insist on being the top dog

Like I said, its already been explained. Just stop being lazy and look.

And whats up with you people getting on Kobe for not moving to the 2nd option? Since when did players just decided to move to the 2nd option? Last time I checked, if a player wanted to become a 1st option, he proved it on the court. What great player, who is still playing great, just decided to be the 2nd option? If you want to be the leader, then prove it on the court.

hard to prove it on the court when kobe has the ball in his hands the whole game.

What does this have to do with anything? You are one classless individual and will stop at nothing to bash someone.

Shoveyjoe, you're better off just putting Malibu on your ignore list so you don't have to waste your time reading his stupidity. He's just a Laker fan (allegedly) who's jealous of LeBron and Miami. As you can see he never brings anything of substance to the board. Nothing but trolling from his sizzled brain.

Please read Phil Jackson's book on that season. You will find that your not up to speed on what happened between Kobe and Phil and you are trying to change the story 10 years later. people do a similar thing about Kobe's of court issues. Keep it real and stay credible
