Non story.

The fact he's wearing a Dolphins hat clearly means he lacks commitment to the team and is going to bolt to the Dolphins once his contract is up

As JDM said their is a hat culture with the young guys and they wear hats to look cool not to show support for a team. I work with a young guy who grew up in Arizona that showed up to work with a San Jose Sharks hat one day and the very next day showed up with a Toronto Raptors hat all because it looks cool.

Not sure where the immaturity blasts come from since by all account he's one of the hardest workers on the team, works with charity and children, and has yet to get into trouble aside from now with "hatgate" and if that's the most "trouble" he gets into I'll take it.

So Brady could wear a J-E-T-S cap and you'd sing the same song?

I have never in my life worn a cap of a team I wasn't loyal to. Not once.

That's a division and territorial rival and I think it would be a bigger deal if Kaepernick got caught wearing a Seattle Seahawks hat or Cowboys hat.

The Dolphins are low in terms of relevancy to the 9ers nation (and vice versa) because aside from 1 SB there really isn't history between them

A more apt analogy would be if Brady was wearing an Arizona Cardinals hat.

i think people are missing the point. A QB is supposed to be the leader of your team. Him Wearing a Dolphins hat is like George Patton Wearing a Nazi uniform because it matched his eyes. How would his troops feel about that? Now how do you think Kaepernicks team mates feel about it? I can guarantee you there are some pissed off 49er players AND Fans. That's just something a "leader" wouldn't do. It's a respect thing. His insta-gram post proves he has little respect. He SHOULD care what people think about him because it reflects back to the 49ers.

Lets also say some how the Dolphins and the 49ers play each other in the superbowl and the phins win. Then what? people would dig this pic up and it would be headline stuff.

Idiotic controversy, by all accounts kaepernick has been a real leader this off-season and as jikkle said, the dolphins and 49 ers aren't rivals. See, these types of threads mark you guys as stupid amateurs thinking that it's some type of sign that kaepernick is not a leader, etc.

Seahawk fans are trolling this story but I don't like that he did it. Miami isn't a division rival but they are the competition. It was flat out stupid and his tweet later was juvenile. As I've already stated, I work for Pepsi so I don't go around sporting Coke apparel. It's as simple as that.

How is it trolling to point out the lack of class in how he handled this? I'm not just judging this one incident. He appears to be quite immature in many ways. His use of language and how he deals with the media and fans show it. His trademarking kaepernicking and other nonsense. This hat deal and the picture that follows. All signs of someone not yet ready to grow up and be the team leader most teams want from their franchise QB.

That says nothing about what he has done so far on the field. He has been impressive and has a great tool set to work with. All that is pointed out here is this off the field stuff is less than desierable. Doesn't mean he will fail, but would you rather have a Manning type of leader or say Roethlisberger? Not how they are on the field, but off. How about Rogers or Cutler?

It isn't a trivial matter when the QB spot is the heart and soul of your team. QB's without that leadership and classy stature can still be winners, but which would you rather have?

Manning has called out his teammates to the press more than once.

I want a 49ers fan right now to tell me you're proud of the way he looks/sounds in that Instagram. You're proud of that? And this is a complete non-issue that you won't remember tomorrow?

At least he's stopped wearing his hat pushed down over his ears like a retarded orphan. That's some progress.

Hats these days are about style, not your team. I wear hats that aren't my team, doesn't mean I rep those teams. It just means the hat is cool. This isn't a story.

Yeah, over the ears is pretty stupid. Not sure why someone this young would even think it's okay.

He looks like the exact sort that I used to tangle with in high school.

The non story is all over yahoo and nfl.com now.

Y! SPORTS

Good, I hope it becomes a distraction and this clown has to own up. His attitude is pathetic and I guarantee you ownership isn't happy about it.
