apparently everyone else thinks recent too, just looked at the votes

Recent?

I'm thinking all time.

Texas
858-333-34 (#2 all time wins, #5 all time winning percentage)
26-22-2 bowl record (#2 most bowl wins, 2nd most appereances)

4 national titles (same as Cal, Georgia Tech, Illinois just to name a few)

2nd most ever wins, 2nd most ever bowl wins, 2nd most ever bowl apperances but Texas fans will tell you they had to play in a tough conference back in the SWC days. Yeah, with those records? wtf ever!!!

Texas should have at least 8-10 titles.

How was oregon left off the list? This has nothing to do with the OP, but I've personally expected better things from that team and they have let me down.

LOL 2 saying Oregon is underachieving.

They are the most overachieving team in college football.

It's not going to be that way anymore though. They are now getting top 10 recruiting classes and they have pumped gobs of cash into the program. They should be expected to finish in the top 10 every year.

All this was said in 2000 and 2001. Then 2002-2008 happened...
Losing At Home to Indiana happened........

They will (on paper) have more talent than us when we play them this season and we will take them to the shed.

They underachieve.

They are in a recruiting hot bed with nothing to show for it.

Texas was my second choice. All we hear from the media is Mack Brown picks & chooses who he wants out of the state of Texas. Why can't he recruit a QB?

Drew Brees went to Purdue
Stafford went to Georgia
Luck went to Stanford
Aaron Murray is at Georgia

I'm sure their are many more.

For a guy who can apparently get anyone he wants from the state he certainly has blown it when it comes to getting the best QB.

Stafford went to Georgia bc Texas signed Colt McCoy. Can't really fucking blame him.

Some stats I compiled a while back:

Let's look at the National champs from 2004 to present and their respective recruiting classes that comprised those championship teams using rivals rankings. Rivals began ranking classes in 2002. I'll even add Nebraska's avg class ranking through the same years for comparison.

2004 National Champ: USC
Class rankings:
-'02 - 13th
-'03 - 3rd
-'04 - 1st
Avg Ranking: 5.6 Nebraska's avg: 36.6

There are no UCLA fans here. We know you hate them and that you own them. No need to blab on about it.

LMAO!!!!!

Recruit ranking are nothing more than a rating on potential.
You do not take into account players no longer there.
You do not take into account JC players are not ranked as well HS players and Nebraska always has a Ton of them.

There is no paper with any sort of practical talent evaluation that will say UCLA is better than Nebraska.

Well I'm telling you in plain english that since they started ranking classes, no team with a class average over 11.4 has won a national championship and that 11.4 team had Vince Young.

I'm not saying it's the end-all-be-all, but it's not hocus pocus either.

It's one indicator.
