Wow. We reject him, but the Mets accept him?

How does that happen?

So we miss out on all the big ones...again.
And @Hangman ... maybe we've dodged a bullet?

Was Logno completely healthy when we signed him? I'm assuming he passed his physical but now I have to wonder?

Also good morning you two!

24*s and clear here in Mid TN ... about to go for my daily run.

Anyone see anything suspicious about this? Maybe I’m seeing too deep into it but it’s almost like Boras/Correa were looking for any excuse to back out and they got one. Real quick signing with the Mets.

I was on the fence about Re-upping my MLB app subscription for ‘23. After signing Correa, I decided there was enough reason to shelf that decision at least one more year.

At this point, I am cancelling my subscription. There is no reason to watch this team.

This could be the time for the Giants to bring up the young guys. I’m not saying they have to, but after this past free agent period they are gonna need something to excite the fans and keep them engaged. Be some growing pains but it would be better then the dumpster dive team we have now.

Really bizarre. Has thing kind of thing ever happened before? Big name player going to Team A and it seems like a done deal and all of the sudden Team A states that an issue postpones the official announcement. Then, suddenly, Team B announces big name player is signing with them.

This does seem suspicious and could cement Boras' reputation as a scumball.

Predicted 2023 record with this group: 80-82

The mid point between this predicted record and the other one I gave is 91-71. @Mays-Fan , you may well be correct in your prediction of a 90 win team, but I don't think that it would be the floor of this ballclub.
So, with the crazy news in mind, right now, Correa would be replaced with either Blake Sabol or Brett Wisely on the OP roster. Best case scenario, Correa's 5.4 WAR gets replaced with a 0.5 WAR. Worst case, Correa's 5.4 gets replaced with a -0.5.

That puts the projected 2023 record between 98-64 and 74-88.

Yeah, we won't have that headline player, and this is a huge letdown, but we will still contend for the playoffs.

If we stay healthy, get some breaks on bouncebacks and development, and get hot at the end, who knows? Properly handled, this can provide motivation.

And if we are in contention, this gives us budget for a mid-season trade acquisition. We do have a few chips in the minors...

He took LESS money to go to the Mets. Which makes me suspect he decided to go to a contender.

From what I’ve read it’s never happened before. At least for this big of a contract.

You know the 'rule of thumb' that says a fan should wait 5 years after winning a title before they can start to rag on their team? Well it's been over 8 years, and since it was more titles that makes sense. But I'm done making excuses, these guys don't know what they are doing, FZ is not a good GM, and right now the Giants don't appear to want to do what it takes to truly compete.

I do not expect anything notable from these guys for a while.

Respect for the optimism, but this is not happening.

The tear-down needed to happen 5 years ago. Doing it now is probably needed, but it makes me feel like we are the Pirates or the Rays (or, gasp, the A’s).

But wasn't it the Giants who nixed the deal? If so, there is no conspiracy angle.
