I would agree with that had he been assisting here for awhile. I think allowing him too much control too soon would be a huge mistake on JD's part. I would think he would have to be on an 18-24 month plan.

We should also be looking at adding a legit catcher, a legit OF and also signing one of the SS.

I agree if we were a better team I could see keeping him but we just to go with players who are more than one dimensional

We have had some successful years in the past with one dimensional players on them.(the Lawn Gnome for one) You just have to be really good in that one dimension. I think the jury is still out on how good Willie's offense can be.

One other thing, he has improved in the OF. I think some tend to see him as worse than he actually is.

We got through the weekend with the magic number one better than I expected. That is enough to change which draft pick I think we will get.

We want players on roster that can compete with our 2011 Ranger squad theoretically. Can Calhoun do this ? Maybe but maybe not. His numbers will have to be better even if he is better than most of

Our Front Office has that decision and about a dozen more just like it to make over the next 3 ysars. Let's hope they get almost all of those right. It could be the difference in a WC birth and a Championship.
