No, if you have your eyes open and not covered by rose colored glasses, and if you follow the team close enough. When you follow something closely and keep your eyes open you see a lot of things, good and bad.

My take is Crouse has better mental makeup than Howard but looks like Howard may have better pitch mix the. Crouse. Velo guess was a concern

I still agree with Keith Law in that I wouldn't have traded Crouse for Howard straight up.

Howard has a fairly lengthy history of velocity problems.

Been surely against Fangraphs staff especially days gone by. But yeah do think there is an east coast bias generally and even those theat glorify the Cards so yes not to many I like. Certainly like KEN R over a guy like Heyman

I think Fangraphs has some flaws in how it judges how well players play the game. Analytics are only as good as the theories behind how they are developed and utilized.

I do have respect for Keith Law's opinion. Of course, none of them are going to always be right.

I also give him props for being willing to discuss his opinion when you tell him you disagree. A few years back I disagreed with him about David Murphy. We sent several emails back and forth. He was very explanatory and very cordial with me. Also, turns out he was right about Murphy.

With as bad as our hitting is I just don’t see how we could cut ties with a guy like him. He’s cheap and has 3 more years left. Could easily be a .750 OPS hitter with potential to be .800+
