Trying to convince the wife to go to a game in august!

Mine would prob be the Saturday night game. But not sure we're going because of the COVID...My old lady is slamming on the brakes on all things like that (theme parks/sporting events/large gatherings).

The crackdown on sticky substances added to the pitched balls - will be a hilarious baseball blunder as individual umpires will enforce this rule very differently.

It doesn't appear that any of the Sox pitchers seem to be sweating this out - or losing RPMs on their pitches. It's going to be interesting.

Boys, I'm getting to "taking the White Sox for granted" stage...which scares me because there's too much pain from yesteryears to make this kind of thought rational.

But, we ain't gonna f*cking lose. This is more than half of our batting order yesterday: Mendick, Goodwin, Garcia, Lamb, Collins....And yet, we still kick ass left and right. How is that even possible?

Just got home from my Strip staycay, glad I missed yesterday's destruction. Let's get em today. Paris is a really nice hotel, it's our go-to spot whenever we book a staycay in town. Too bad their Wi-Fi sucks big time. Anyway, the better half and I will be back on the road this Tuesday for a longer trip. Hope at least the Wi-Fi at the various places we'll be staying is better.

There are only so many rabbits to pull out of a hat - the Sox need more offense to compete at a high level. Jimenez and Robert are rehabbing and can't be counted on - through the trade deadline.

In the minors - the Sox have Burger and Tim Beckham (former #1 pick in the entire 2008 draft) playing 2nd base and both have hit homers this season on a 1 per 10 at bat pace. I'm thinking there may be a callup "tryout" of Burger or Beckham at 2nd to see if they can help themselves without trading for some pop from 2nd base - like Frazier or Marte.

The Bullpen is another place for help from the minors - as Burdi and Fry seem ready for some action in the mlb.

Vaughn is hitting over .300 against lefties - so he is a potential 2nd half of the season platoon for someone who consistently hits righties.

As incredible as it may seem - -we may see more at bats from Zach Collins. His improvement as a catcher has been huge. If he gets consistent at the plate - the Sox will have a valuable catcher. Rodon and Giolito both prefer Collins over Grandhal (by my observation). Collins does have power and his hitting is trending up.

Yoelqui Céspedes has finally landed and got at start at DH for Winston Salam last night (0-3). Winston Salam streams their games if anyone is interested in getting a look at Cespedes. FWIW - I thought he looked pretty good physically 5'9" 205 lbs and he moves fast.
