For those of us wondering how McCann is doing for the Mets - terrible. McCann is is batting .216 with 1 Hr, and a .280 on base percentage. I love this guy - and hope he pulls it together, but it hasn't started out that way for him in NY.

Are you referring to the American League leader in Walks - Grandal? Or McCann's actual replacement Collins who is hitting 6 points higher with two Hrs and on base percentage of .347?

i am referring the the batting average of mccann vs grandal. and i'll throw in the fact that mccann can actually catch vs grandal who's only on the team because he framed somebody!

The whole league isn't hitting. In April the entire league hit .235

Moving the mound back is stupid but they need to ban the shift, pronto.

Hey, I'm just asking questions - not framing an opinion. You are correct McCann is a much better catcher defensively than Collins.

It's a lot of fun to rag on Tony La Russa, but the Sox are in 1st place - with a top three winning percentage in the American league - despite a slow start by Giolito, Grandal and Abreu, an early season out of whack bullpen and very significant injuries to Robert and Jimenez. He is either a lucky bhastard or he is doing something right.

I think the major Kudos for this early season should go to Frank Menechino who has seemingly transformed this Sox lineup from top swing and missers into a team that goes to the opposite field and takes bases on balls.

Don't expect any help from AAA Charlotte who is off to a soul crushing start of the season - which included a 13 walk inning. AA Birmingham is doing well, but the rest of the White Sox affiliates have also crashed and burned out of the gate.

The Sox need to do what good teams do - stomp the Twinks while they are down! Make them wince and run screaming from town. Each win is not only a game in separation from the pre-season rivals, but a game the Twinks can not use to close the gap later.

The goal is win 2 of 3, with a sweep obviously being better but far less likely.
