He's gonna hold out if we tag...
They can use the tag to keep negotiations on the table. That will be the sales pitch. "We are only tagging you, because we believe we can still come to a mutual agreement, we just needed more time."....en sech

just a hunch, you guys will end up with matt ryan
That QB room would be an awfully old group. At that point, I would feel pretty obligated to draft a QB, which they may do anyway, I just hate fishing for positions in the draft.

Ryan would be an improvement over Foles, but I dunno...I like me some youth at the position.

I'm not saying it's good option, I just see Atlanta going different direction and Nagy/Pace bringing in veteran to help save their job.

I've got some bad news for both of them...

Yes, it looks like Atlanta is in total rebuild mode. They need a lot. D help, QB, etc...

Would we have to give up resource for Ryan? Or are they gonna cut him/he goes to free agency? He's better than a typical retread so if the price wasn't disastrous I could at least be somewhat accepting. I mean, I'd expect nothing out of this team still, but it would at least be palatable. Way better than trading a couple picks for Wentz/Darnold...

It will depend. Matt is under contract for 3 more seasons I believe, so unless Atlanta cuts him, they're looking for something for him. He wasn't in the top 15 last season in QB play, but he probably has life in him for a decent run with a team set up better.

Not only what I posted but from another Bear forum I frequent there is this: "Ryan probably isn't getting traded, he's counting $40M against the cap as it is right now and if traded that number jumps to nearly$44M. Falcons are in cap hell with no really way to get out from under it. They're already $31M over the projected cap trading Ryan hurts them more than it helps"

So now Russell Wilson is getting chatter.

At this point, they're just f*cking with us.

The local sports writers have been driving these rumors from day one. So you're spot on.
The Bears trading the draft capitol it would take to get russell Wilson would be like spending your life’s savings and going into debt for a Lamborghini and then parking it in the ghetto, uninsured, unlocked, and with the keys on the dash.

I think RW could bring this team to the cusp of championship caliber, but... the amount of future assets necessary to make it happen, working the cap and trying to bring the rest of the team back relatively intact would cost us dearly down the road...

Yea who cares. If you can get a top 5 QB you do it and worry about everything else later. If you have a chance to win a superbowl this year before needing to blow the thing sky high and suck for 3 years, you do it.
