Here’s my spitball prediction if Brady stayed:

Those are his worst 7 games.

Recordwise, I’d predict 3-4 or 4-3. Since he was 3-4 in the last 7 regular season games last year, I would lean towards that IF the surrounding cast is that low due to opt outs and drafting. But maybe some of the opt outs would have played if Brady were there. So 4-3?

One game at a time, they have to beat Texans tomorrow first

Underrated from the perspective of a true leader of men in my book. But of course I am a homer. And Gibbs, part 1, did have the advantage of Jack Kent Cooke and the luxury of unlimited caps.

Still... 3 QBS... shows the importance of the trenches and our HOGS at Oline.
I think unlimited caps probably gave them a disadvantage. Maybe.

Theisman was probably the one "franchise QB." He had a relatively long career as their starter.

Rypien was great in 91, but the rest of his years were...well blah.

Doug Williams best years were in Tampa. I think he started like 4 games that year. I think they were really fortunate that the Vikings upset the 49ers. The 49ers were probably the most dynamic team that year.

But, they did it. Of course they played a paper joke in that SB. Funny how I think Timmy Smith still has the SB record for yards. I forget the WR that caught for 200 yards. They scored 35 points in the second quarter lol.

Anyway, Gibbs is most impressive imo with the 3 non hall of fame QBs.

It's easy to sit back and make judgements from a place where you don't have to deal with the actual product.

belichick spent twenty years trying to maintain as many quality players as possible and win. Bitch about poor drafting all you want, but no other team in the NFL had tp pick #28 - #32 as often as the Patriots. During that time they lost two first firt round pick for what Patriots fans consider bogus bullshit. (Let's not get into spygate/deflategate)

When you're drafting #30 on average for twenty straight years, you're generally not picking from the cream of the crop. Belichick's drafting of defensive players and offensive linemen has been damn good. When trying to select the skill positions, it's truly a crapshoot and BB generally didn't go after WR or QB that late. I spent over forty years coaching youth football and never had to deal with cap, but I had to deal with limited talent because of territorial restrictions. In those 40+ years I prided myself in working with the kids I had and watching them play every week. I can't fault BB for what he did because he was limited by his own success.

One must also wonder and question if Brady would have ben equally as successful if he'd been drafted by the Jets, Bills,Browns or Bengals? Would the coaches in charge have recognized what they had and have been able to maintain a team like Belichick and win 11 Division Titles in a row with Brady?? I honestly don't believe that they would have been anywhere near as successful. No question is was the perfect match. I don't believe that Brady will win Ring #7 in Tampa Bay.

One thing that Belichick did do was try to bring in the WR that Brady asked for. Josh Gordon, Galloway, AB, M. Harrison, Austin Collie, Randy Moss and the list goes on. Not all of them could even make the team let alone play.

Oh yeah......Belichick will have $130M under the cap to work with if the cap is set at $178M. There are a boatload of teams that will be dumping players that just might be in Red,Blue and Silver next year. The Patriots will have more free money to spend than any other team in the league in 2021.

Not according to over the cap. Looks like 63 million for 2021.

They are positioning to improve next off season with cap space and draft picks. We'll see how that works out.
They also had the most Covid opt outs and like many teams have sustained a bunch of injuries/Covid list IR.

Even with that, they have been in pretty much every game. But unlike years past, they just haven't been able to close the deal.

I always expected Bill Bellicheck to retire within minutes of Brady. Bill decided to roll the dice with his legacy when Brady left so now we're seeing the truth of things.

Alot of people projected that Bill would put his magic coaching sauce on Cam Newton and the Pats would have their usual success. Cam got worse as the season progressed.

The Patriot Way is a complete myth. I'm not buying the depth excuse either. Alot of teams lost players due to opt outs. The pats draft out of the same talent pool as the good teams so that doesn't fly.

"Their defense takes away your best player."

Ya that's horseshit too. Stefon DIggs put 145 yards and 3 TDs on the Pats in their last meeting. The only team they held to less than 20 points was the awful Broncos.

Oh yeah let's not forget Josh McDaniels. That's another guy who needs a major turnaround next year to prove his entire career was more than just riding Tom Brady's coattails.

BB won 7 games with a roster that should have went 1-15

he’s the greatest there ever was
The greatest coaches in the history of any sport, need the players

Andy Reid was kicked out of Philly with a reputation as a choker, than Patrick Mahomes happened

im sure Aaron Rodgers would kill for Bill Belichick on his sideline his whole career

You can argue either side of the coin. BB is a great coach and Brady is a great QB. Together, they were near unbeatable for twenty years.

Brady found a gold mine of WRs in Tampa that Jameis Winston couldn't control. Brady with twenty years of great coaching behind him, learned an immense mount from BB and has literally wrested control of the Bucs from Arians. Even Arians has admitted that Brady is a better coach than he is during a game. He said that he lets Brady coach the game.

Belichick in 2020 was left with a bare cupboard, by his own admitted design and no money to buy anything to refill it. What he did was go to the refrigerator and grab every piece of leftover food nd attempt to make a decent meal. It's not easy to cook anything substantial when the meat your dealing with is a chunk of balogna and that's what Cam newton was. Stidham was a half of a leftover hamburger and Hoyer was a piece of pork fat. Amazingly BB was able to put together a damn good defensive salad and a great Offensive linevegetable dish. The RBs were an excellent dessert. Sadly the WRs and TEs were spoiled fruit.

Bill has a fat check to go shopping with in 2021 and he has a coupons that should help in the draft. 2021 will prove whether BB is a cook or a chef.

I agree

I will never defend BB the GM, he has been the worst enemy of BB the coach

We knew by November the answer was clear and what many of us suspected. It was Brady more than BB. A lot more.

Yeah Jordan was more important than Phil
Magic and Kareem were more important than Pat
Lebron is more important than any coach

I just think it’s a dumb argument, of course the great players are more important
