5 would be aggressive but I do think 4 is a possibility. This team wants to run a lot of 2 TE sets so it wouldn't be surprising if they went with 4 and maybe even 5, although that would be bad news for our receivers.

I can't see the team going with less than 4. I know it seems like a lot, but with the injury history and Seattle's history of already giving significant snaps to three TEs even when all are healthy should give people the idea that they're looking at this like someone's gonna get hurt.

2012 was the last time Seattle played less than 3 TEs 150 snaps or more. 5 of the last 7 years our 3rd TE has seen the field for 20 or more snaps per game, and this doesn't include any snaps that Fant played at TE the last 2 seasons. Seattle wants to play multiple TEs and likes to keep them rotating through. Dissley may be a stud, but he has fewer than 500 snaps in his career in 2 seasons.

I hear ya. And we might go with 5 TEs. Just seems like a lot and means we almost certainly would have to give up guys like Ursua and/or Moore.

Or somewhere. Not saying it isn't gonna cause issues somewhere else.

I think we go with 4 tight ends which basically makes Willson and Johnson expendable and our 7th round pick as a complete waste, but 7th round picks are kind of whatever anyway (often bringing them in for competition if you're a competitive team).

But who knows, maybe we'll go in with 4-5 WRs and 5 TEs. I will say Parkinson projects much more to a receiving threat than a blocking/traditional TE role, so maybe they line him up outside or do some creative motion with him.

The only logic I can get behind with Parkinson is basically Carroll/Schneider view him as a GIANT wide receiver in the slot role... his blocking is lackluster and he'll get dominated on the line of scrimmage, so basically put him at a slot receiver role (essentially) as a giant 6'7" target which will create nightmare matchups for defenses given we have DK Metcalf as well (who is a physical freak).

They wont LIST him at WR (TE is cheaper) but I could VERY much see his role as basically a #3/#4 wideout with Olsen/Dissly filling the traditional role of a tight end.

He's got a future HOF QB throwing to him so the throw placement will be far better than what he had at Stanford.

Dropped one pass the entire season... to me this is Seattle hopefully saying, "Let's just line him up as WR 75%+ of the time and throw it up to him." LOL

i think this tells me more that Seattle doesn't trust Dissly to stay healthy and Olson to be anything other than a blocking TE. I think the gameday roster is now 48 players not 46? and the team roster is ..55 up from 53? So they can carry 2 more players than they could before this season. Where do you put those extra players? Well Seattle might put one of them at TE and one at WR or RB. we won't know till the roster is set but i think some of you are forgetting about the expanded rosters.

PC's comments about the TE position in the Draft Day 3 Presser:
  • Greg Olsen: leader...versatile...will make the others better.
  • Dissly: will learn a ton from Olsen...exciting player when available.
  • Parkinson/Sullivan: totally different players...will see how it goees.
  • Parkinson: great kid...consistent...has frame to beef up and be a blocker.
  • Sullivan: not used enough at LSU...has the ability to be split out...role may be receiving TE.
  • Hollsiter: great play last year...versatile role...gives us a chance to do unique things.
So no mention at all of Luke W, and Sullivan was at least briefly lumped in with the TE group despite initial indication that he would be used as a WR here (doesn't mean he still won't be).

Alright we got Aaron Fuller as an UDFA!

He may just find a spot as a punt returner. If anything it gives Swain some competition. We really need to fix our abysmal return game. Often we had such horrible or mediocre field position because of how crappy our punt and kick returns were. Would've been better to kneel every single time on kick offs when the option was presented.

Colby Parkinson isnt fast enough to be a reciever so he will probably be just an option near the goal line. I really dont see the logic in drafting him either.

If we can do two things in signing Griffin and somehow get Josh Gordon back on the field the Seattle Seahawks are going to be one freaking loaded unit next season

So Danny O'Neill is on 710 this morning saying he thinks the Hawks have cleared up all this cap space not to increase their offer to and then sign Clowney but instead to extend some of the current players. I don't know that both of those couldn't happen (especially if we hold firm on our current offer to Clowney), but I find that take interesting and it's something I hadn't thought of at all -- that the purpose of all that new space is just to write new contracts for players we already have.

Here are the guys who are "good" and in the last year of their current deals: Shaquill Griffin, Quinton Dunbar, Chris Carson, KJ Wright, Bradley McDougald, Poona Ford, Iupati. I could have missed some, but those are the best players I could think of who have 1 year left on the books. The only one I think we would even entertain extending right now is Griffin. Dunbar is still too unproven and hasn't even played a down for us yet. Carson is probably the most productive player in the group right now, but an extension is unlikely with the position he plays.

Still seems like all roads lead back to Clowney at this point.

Yeah I highly doubt this is to extend their own players next year, every year they always make cap around this team to capitalize on signing a veteran that was released or on the trade block between now and halfway in the preseason.

I still feel like we need to sign a veteran RB... Who knows if CC will be 100% when we begin the season... Don't feel too confident with Dallas/Homer being our 1/2 punch to begin the season... Carlos Hyde is still out there - I think he'd be a great fit...

I've liked WF in a few movies... He was great on SNL... But that bit he did for the Hawks was borderline, boring...

As much as I love former UW players, I don't think Fuller is going to make the roster. I don't think he's good enough to be a punt returner or a receiver to justify using a roster spot on him.
