Just an FYI so we can stop talking about it, Patrick is not playing this season. Right now this team is it's own destiny and they have all the pieces. Now maybe they keep believing and keep getting better. If we can stay healthy advantage us.

Just around the time that his partner Hagg was given a full time opportunity with this team and is +14.
Hagg is +15 over the same time. Either Braun was nursing an injury or was having trouble playing against better talent. Either way, if we had a 3rd playing playing that type of + hockey in the past, we may have hosted a cup. 2010 with Ryan Parent and Lukas Krajicek certainly comes to mind.

I'd seriously consider moving ghost at the deadline.
We need another forward. If Patrick isn't coming back. Or won't be ready. We need
To ensure we have some more depth. Also, it would give the guys a shot in the arm knowing that management is helping them out.

Man that would've been nice to have a cup that year. We were so close.

I wouldn't mind trading Ghost but my fear is that as soon as we trade him one or two of our defensemen get hurt.

Ghost's time here is past... Under AV's system, his lack of defensive grit just doesn't work. With the emergence of Hagg's steady play, and Provy's offensive impact.... IMHO Ghost becomes expendable.

The D crew is a pretty hefty bunch (Sandheim at 6-3 / 181 is the 'slightest' one).... they can handle themselves. Of course the fluke knee twist or groin pull is always a risk.

I said for another forward. Who that is is above my paygrade

Ghost makes 4.5 and JG Pageau makes 3.4.

Pageau has 21 G and 13 A in 55 games for Ottawa.
That would be 6th on the Flyers right now, points-wise.

Pageau is also an UFA after this season, so it could be a rental.

It's not for me, but that's what you're looking at realistically.

Hagg needs more than a handful of good games to be considered solid. He needs to do it for a full season then we'll talk.

I'd def take as a rental but not for Ghost. He'd be a bigger return in the off season, IMO.

What makes you say that? All reports from the past month are trending towards a possible return for Patrick this year.
