Great win on the road and now the first wild card team. If only the Islanders would start a losing streak, we would be in better shape to get a spot in the division. JvR has been getting hot of late. Let's keep it up and continue to climb in the standings.

NYI lost and CBJ lost in OT.

3rd and 4th lines are driving us.
The whole thing is starting to come together.

With one game of success on the road, do you keep putting Hart back out there?
Or still balance with Elliott?

With all the love Pierre McGuire was heaping on the Flyers I got totally confused..... thought the Pens were playing, and that my color vision had shifted.

I think I'd still keep it pretty balanced, but when March rolls around I think it's time to start riding Hart unless it's a back to back situation.

Hart has stopped 56/59 (94.9%) in his last two games, both against a pretty good offensive FLA team.
FLA is fighting for a playoff spot and is 5th in the league in scoring goals.

I think the safe move is to start Elliott against TB and then have Hart start the first game of the HnH with CBJ, which is at home. Win that, play him @ CBJ.

I tend to agree with this. I gotta admit, Hart is becoming a favorite of mine. It seems these guys click better with him in the net. Maybe it's just my imagination?
on another note, so you guys feel that the Flyers will make a small trade at the deadline? I ask because it seems like Patrick is only days away from coming back. Thoughts?

It's a good question.
Would definitely have to be small, given our cap restraints.

I don't think we can count on Patrick for this season.
Anything we get out of him would be just gravy, but it's difficult to predict if 1) he's mentally strong, 2) how much time needed to get in game shape, and 3) his expectations might be too high.

Also have to find out if Sanheim is seriously hurt, as that might alter their strategy at the deadline.

Some of the forwards I've seen mentioned are Joe Thornton, Chris Tierney, and JG Pageau (BSH and/or The Athletic).
Thornton might be an interesting veteran to add to the mix.

I don't know.
I kind of like where everything is at right now, but if AV says there's a player he wants, I get him that player.
Our coaching has to get an A so far.

I would be interested in Thornton as long it doesn't cost us our 1st rounder. He's up there in age, but he's still productive and has a ton of postseason experience. And he has that leadership value that we have lacked over the years.

When you say JVR getting hot you mean to say the third and fourth lines are playing great, right?

Isles have key players out i have a feeling they start dropping a few games in a row.

If Patrick does come back it will take him a couple of weeks to learn the system so im not sure if he would help or hurt us.

IMHO Patrick would be a "Hinder". I'd leave the team alone. Particularly on D, they are playing as a unit. 3rd and 4th lines are producing goals --- and having fun at it. They play as well as any top 8 team in the entire league as long as they are playing against a top 8. Just have to fix their play against the bottom 6 teams... jeez, what a problem to have.

Just around the time that his partner Hagg was given a full time opportunity with this team and is +14.

Hagg has been playing great. No question. And as long as they're all healthy, I'd keep Ghost on the bench right now. No need to mess with it.
