Still impossible to compare tough, but it seems like that would be the most likely comparison for Clemson to use for this matchup. Perkins 64% and 18 and 11 in the ACC. Fields 67% and 40 and 1 against the Big 10. But I still think even though Ohio St has been great in the secondary this year this is going to be their toughest challenge easily, if Clemson can limit the Ohio St DL it will give Lawrence time and that could be big trouble. I don't see Ohio St really limiting these WR's unless Lawrence just either has a bad game or the DL gets crazy pressure. A huge key.

But as far as Fields, I don't care about him running as much to get yards as to just keeping the defense off balanced. Fields needs to hit his open throws but it comes down to the OL and Dobbins in this one for this Ohio St offense imo

I think that's mostly correct. I think Clemson's OL vs Ohio State's DL is the key matchup, as I said a few pages back in my analysis. Clemson's offensive line is #1 in yards per rush and top 5 in sacks. Ohio State's defensive line is top 5 in sacks and top 10 in yards per rush allowed. Another factor is Tanner Muse. He's Clemson's safety, and while he's great against the run and blitzing, he has the hips of an 80 year old man. If he's in coverage, he'll get burned, and Simmons constantly has to go save him, and that's not where Clemson wants Simmons playing.

I think the way things go in the trenches either way will determine the outcome. OSU's offensive line is big and deep, so we have to establish the run early. If we can do that, it will go a long way towards dictating game flow. If we struggle, though, it could get bad.

I love Dabo but damn... him constantly trying to spin things to make Clemson the underdog and “Little Ol Clemson” is getting old.
The funniest part is that his team is not only universally being picked by analysts to win, but they're also favored despite being ranked lower. His shtick is definitely tired at this point.

Thank you! It sure as hell is. Heard some sports commentators talking about this yesterday..... It's not only getting old, it's complete bullshit. clem isn't getting disrespected at all. They are in the fucking CFP. Shut up and win.

I'll tell you, imo, who is getting disrespected. OU. I find it amazing how much the CFW is simply talking like OU doesn't have a chance. OU is a good team that has what it takes. LSU - YES of course they are great. but stop acting like LSU is playing the Little sisters of the poor flag team...... Holy hell........

oh yea. and fuck dabo..... he's a douchebag........

At this point he is just saying it, just to say it. Find a new motivation. I really don't get how they are being disrespected at all, if anything it's the opposite. They are the most feared team in CFB right now, what more do you want.

As has been said ad nauseum, if you want to stop it, beat them. So far it has worked, so I would expect him to go with it.

Eh, that isn't what's working. Nobody on that team thinks they're underdogs. What's working is having really talented players and really good coaching.

It's like when Saban berates the media because they don't take bumfuck state community college seriously. He doesn't believe they're good. Nobody on Bama's team thinks they're good.

The whole package works. It annoys people because they do it and win. If they were 9-3, nobody would care. But of course if they had the Rutgers roster they would be disrespected for good reason.

I CAN see it resonating with their players, in that they are defending champs on a 28-game win streak and ranked the lowest of the unbeatens.

I have to disagree on this one. Alabama has the NCAA record for consecutive wins over unranked opponents, and the games usually are over well before HT. Saban is the best ever at getting the team ready for those games.

Contrast that with other top programs. Clemson cane within a hair of losing to a very mediocre UNC team. OU had several losses to unranked teams this decade, and Meyer’s tOSU had the Iowa and Purdue debacles.

Now does Saban’s media act get old? Of course. I wouldn't be offended if some want to throat punch him. But I do appreciate that when we are playing a shorty team, we get the result we SHOULD get against a shitty team. Whether his interviews have anything to do with it, I don’t know. I do think it’s far more important what happens on the field during the week than what is said in front of the camera.

Can't wait for the game. Mean no disrespect, but no clue how good this clemson team is. Especially the O. Only played one team in top 40 (barely..TAM 38) in defense. OSU has played 6 teams better. 2 in top 10.

All that said, Clemson offense could still be world beaters. We just don't know.....yet.

:noidea: Could say the same for OSU defense
You could say it, but you'd be wrong. OSU played the following in the top 40 in scoring offense....
Florida Atlantic - 14
Wisconsin X2 - 21
PSU - 24
Michigan - 40

Or did you mean to say the same of Clemson D as the only offenses they faced in top 40 were wake Forest and L'ville - 38 and 39

This probably didn't go how you wanted.

During the media day, Meyer and Davis said they were returning.

Both submitted paperwork, so I'm guessing they just leave if they get first round grades.
