outright embarrassing what some teams get away with......

I don't know why Bama is #3? Look at their schedule and tell me who they have beaten this season (SO FAR). Bama has only beaten one team with a record over .500!!!

Well, they are 8-0 and #3...it's not like there is a shit ton of great teams with these amazing wins and no losses under them. I mean, what are you going to do, put in a 1-loss Pac-12 team, shit, the Pac-12 can't buy a win versus a ranked team OOC, 0-7 last year and 0-4 this year...y'all are in no position to bitch about who anybody has beaten. Shit, Hawaii has as many Pac-12 wins as 5 of the 12 Pac-12 teams.

You misrepresent my idea and with rules, being better is just an advantage towards accomplishing what has value as a matter of fact. I'm not arguing that any G5 team is better than any particular P5 team or plays a more difficult schedule. Much of what you list only matters in beauty contest sports where the purpose is about proving something as a matter of opinion.

I prefer college football play by actual rules where only facts matter even if those facts don't always validate someone's opinion about matters the facts don't even actually address.
I probably am confused. Let’s say that the University of South Alabama beat an 8-0 Louisiana Lafayette team and the University of Alabama beat an 8-0 LSU, would the points earned in your system be the same?

...and that is why you and your system are retarded. Should we just pretend that returning players are not returning and that we didn't have the 3 of the last 4 #1 recruiting classes and South Alabama hasn't had a class over 85 in their history...or ever had a 4-star on their roster....and that these exact same things exist between LSU and ULL.

Perhaps we should just reassign FBS teams to conferences randomly and divide the money equally between all schools...you know, in the interest of fairness.

Alabama Has Apparently Played The Easiest Schedule Among Power 6 Teams This Year, Based On Opponent Win Percentage
Alabama Has Apparently Played The Easiest Schedule In The Power 5

Alabama has 2 decent games left – at home against LSU and on the road against Auburn. They also have 2 really easy opponents, Mississippi State and Western Carolina.

The team’s entire season is going to be defined by how it plays in those two games. Because the rest of the schedule leaves a lot to be desired.

AP Top 10 with their Opponents win %
1 LSU .585
2 Bama .391 (Last in P6)
3 Ohio State .581
4 Clemson .476
5 Penn St. .536
6 Florida .583
7 Oregon .536
8 UGA .457
9 Utah .500
10 Oklahoma .463 https://twitter.com/CFBONFOX/status/1190057866503315462 …

No matter how you slice it. UCF has a way tougher SOS than Bama this year. And last year we nearly had an identical SOS when excluding UConn.

But people will ignore the mathematical UCFacts, and latch on to their dogmatic narratives.

im not going to read through 12 pages but it comes down to this
a schedule consisting of 5-3 Temple, 4-4 USF, 3-6 Houston is not the same as 3-6 Ole Miss, 5-3 Missouri, and 4-4 Kentucky. same record does not mean equal

Maybe UCF's preseason ranking had something to do with their season last year. Because they surely aren't ranked now. So, UCF hasn't "earned" what some of these other programs have. So, just maybe Alabama has "earned" some spots based on the coach, based on the players on the field, based on recruiting classes, based on the fact that they are 154-21 under Saban over his tenure there, based on the fact that they have not lost more than three games in a season under Saban, based on the fact that they have won 6 out of 8 college football playoff games. Based on the number of national championships they have. A team that wants this type of big boy recognition needs to do big boy things on the field. As far as this season, we will just have to see over the rest of the month what happens.

Bama past is being considered... they are ranked #2 or Playoff #3 because of their past. Not because their marque game so far has been beating a$m!!!

Bama has played a cupcake schedule to date … there is no point is arguing over that.

... We just do not know how good to great bama is - this Saturday we will find out ...

Who is pretending? The things you list are probably why P5 teams win 95% of everything when compared to G5 teams under my retarded system.

We would definitely find out, because your system would put tons of G5 teams in games they don't deserve. Luckily nobody is ever going to be so dumb that they fix a system that isn't broken to correct a potential 5% error.

Error? Just curious, do you imagine G5 teams have no room for improvement if given a system that lets them know what it takes to make playoffs as a matter of fact?

Also, how is arbitrary system not broken?

When you win like Bama does year after year you are good until proven bad. They have a team full of 5* recruits with probably the best coach in the history of the sport and they are undefeated again. At this point, that's enough
Apparently to the Playoff committee it's enough. :noidea:

I agree, a P5 is not entitled to place higher because we believe it to be so, they place higher because the alleged "best" G5 is a dismal 44-90 vs average P5's and 7-36 vs ranked P5's...no smoke and mirrors or bullshit rules, just games played.

The playoffs started in 2014, UCF beat their last ranked P5 opponent Baylor in 2013. If you somehow think adding 2013 or any previous year into the equation would alter the results for the AAC, you would be wrong...but feel free to try.
Didn’t UCF beat a ranked Auburn in 2017?
