Fine, as long as we establish it is based on your made up rules I am fine with you saying whatever bullshit you like. If we are actually using objectives measurements and actual results, then if anything they are doing worse.

I mean, you can pretend in your rules that there are no P5 and G5 distinctions, but the reality is that there is, and the AAC typically gets their ass kicked when they play them. Houston at 8-4 is the only team in the AAC that has a winning record over P5 teams. They and Memphis are also the only AAC teams with more than one win against a ranked P5 opponent in the last 6 years. What P5 team would be considered for the playoffs with a ranked P5 win every other year.

I'm not pretending anything. The distinctions are significant competitive advantages for P5 teams towards accomplishing the objective results needed to place higher under my particular rules. The difference is that a better P5 team is not entitled to place higher than a G5 simply because we believe/know it is better. The better P5 team has to beat the G5 team at the rules in play and if it fails to do so, it loses.

BTW, doesn't UCF have two P5 ranked wins or is the Baylor outside your time frame?

I agree, a P5 is not entitled to place higher because we believe it to be so, they place higher because the alleged "best" G5 is a dismal 44-90 vs average P5's and 7-36 vs ranked P5's...no smoke and mirrors or bullshit rules, just games played.

The playoffs started in 2014, UCF beat their last ranked P5 opponent Baylor in 2013. If you somehow think adding 2013 or any previous year into the equation would alter the results for the AAC, you would be wrong...but feel free to try.

None that has anything to do with deciding which of two teams gets the last playoff spot in a particular year. For example, Team A has X results and Team B has Y results. As a matter of rule, suppose X > Y. In that instance, A advances. It makes no difference what A and B or their opponents accomplished versus P5 teams before the year in progress. A P5 team could enter a year on 50 game losing streak and if they run the table, precedent suggests they are a playoff lock. Or suppose a G5 team ever actually has like 3-4 wins versus ranked P5 teams demanded of them by some critics. Are they still denied a playoff spot because of the stats you posted which are completely unrelated to what my hypothetical G5 team accomplished?

As far as adding UCF ranked win versus Baylor, it makes no difference to me. The P5 vs G5 numbers you post are reflected in the results of my particular idea. It is not like 44-90 equals 50-50 on top 2, top 4, and so on finishes.

LOL, when has any G5 in the history of football played 3-4 ranked p5's...nobody is demanding that of them, hell, it would be nice if they played 1. The AAC has had 288 regular season OOC games in the last 6 years of the playoff era. 113 of them have been against P5 teams, but only 37 against a ranked P5 opponent or roughly 6 a year for 12 teams...barely one ranked P5 opponent every other year. So, only 39% of their OOC games against P5, and 13% against ranked P5's.

So, in 6 years, the AAC will play 37 games against ranked regular season P5 opponents...and lose 32 of them, by contrast the SEC West will play 25 against ranked P5 teams THIS YEAR...Your false equivalency is false.

The year an AAC team plays 2 ranked P5 opponents in the regular season and runs the table, I will be their biggest proponent...until then you and all the other apologists can fuck off.

I'm not an apologist. I don't know what your stats are suppose to tell me that I don't already know. P5 teams dominate G5 teams. None of those stats are relevant to where any G5 finishes based on its season results only in particular year.

P5 teams dominate under my idea too. They just get no credit for the P5 label.

Didn't mean to get your panties in a bunch. At least BAMA hasn't lost to an unranked team or beat a losing team by 1 point or so.

I don't know why Bama is #3? Look at their schedule and tell me who they have beaten this season (SO FAR). Bama has only beaten one team with a record over .500!!!
Where are you saying they should be?

When you win like Bama does year after year you are good until proven bad. They have a team full of 5* recruits with probably the best coach in the history of the sport and they are undefeated again. At this point, that's enough

I agree with him that Alabama hasn’t earned anything yet. Of course, neither has anyone else. We do not and cannot know until the end of the season who has earned what. Too much FB to be played.

I gave us ranked 5th, and think that is reasonable given our schedule so far.

I think consistently dominant play like Bama over the length of time they have done it earns them the benefit of the doubt at the least

No doubt it works that way. I am good with being asked to prove it.

I do think the SportsHoopla poll having Oregon at 6 is indicative that posters have different standards. What marquee wins do the Ducks have? Certainly none better than TAMU, but they are getting a LOT of undue respect on here from many claiming Bama has done nothing.
