Wife taped all the Wrong Turns off of Sling so we had a little marathon last Friday night. Speaking of those films, did you hear they are coming out with a new one in 2020?

I used to think Eliza Dushku was a goddess... man do things change as you get older lol. Good looking, but not nearly as hot as I used to think she was. Watched it this last weekend and now I think that Carly chick (Emmanuelle Chriqui) was way hotter.

Yep kinda think the same about those chicks you thought were the hottest in high school, when in reality, they weren't. But I will say Eliza Dushku was hot in that particular movie, overall Chriqui is way hotter. One of the reasons I like horror films is bc of the hot actresses wearing skimpy stuff...especially if they are good actors lol

lol... Lookin back I could only find ratings of "0" in all my reviews. But there were a few mentions about BM-fillers in my Unnatural & Cabin Fever reviews.

Head Count (2018)


On Netflix! This one was a helluva missed opportunity. It's a very low-budget film, but it had a pretty unique mythical element that was really cool. But it was all for naught due in large part to the climax. Once the creature revealed itself I had to yell out, "WTF they went with that silly thing?" The creature design was simply laughable. And if I'm honest, in retrospect the entire film really didn't deliver much of anything for me. Acting was uncomfortable, and the characters were dumb. Nobody really added anything to the plot. Just a bunch of cardboard cutouts of stereotypical college kids. Basically all they wanted was a college-party cast but tried to develop sympathetic characters to no avail. I liked the part where the creature starts forcing the characters to do things against their will. Mainly the cliff scene. Wished they could have parlayed that into more menace. Instead they waited until the climax to feature that concept in abrupt fashion. Shame as it could have been used a lot better. Also would have been cool if they wrote the myth into something more of a geographical folklore instead of just something the kid read off his phone. Would have been pretty easy to do, and would have added a more menacing element to it. And the creature we could have completely done without. I think they were going for an Area 51 vibe, but it just didn't work. Side note, had to laugh when they straight up tell you that you HAVE to say its name 5 times to conjure it, and he only said it 4 times. Hilarious. Also they had some discontinuity fails with the filming. For instance, the last trip out into the park the group leaves early morning, and arrives mid-morning. They realize a problem and head back to the house, but don't arrive until it's pitch black out? You can tell they filmed the subsequent scene prior to the trip out and had to stick with it. Because darkness equals a scarier scene, right? Also, why did the creature feel the need to rearrange everything in the house in bizarre fashion? They went against the theme of 5's there with all that nonsense, and it didn't make any sense. Also have to say the score was stupid. Score-produced jump scares are lame. Essentially you get a loud sound effects choreographed into the music just to transition screenshots. Bush league.

Unique concepts, but subpar execution... 3/10

I noticed these things too. Furthermore, I was asking myself... if the stuff was rearranged to fit the ritual setting, would it be undone if they just cleared the shit off the tables? I noticed that no one did anything like that lol. Everyone just sat there whining and listening.

I really didn't care for the ending though.

Last night I watched...

The Ritual - I wasn't a big fan of the characters. I honestly found it hard to like or agree with anyone. Everyone was too casual or too over-the-top in my opinion. However, I think the monster looked pretty good in most scenes, especially the scene where the worshippers house was burning down and the monster was lifting the woman. The silhouette looked pretty sweet in my opinion. But there was quite a bit that didn't add up to me or wasn't explained. I wasn't too fond of the abrupt ending either. All in all, I give it a 5.5/10

I also watched Welcome to Willits. Now this is a straight up C grade horror/comedy that doesn't do much in either category. It is basically about a meth addict getting high on his own supply and seeing aliens in place of people who he thinks are after him and hence goes on a killing spree of sorts. This movie is bad, but I got that vibe that the movie KNOWs it is bad. It doesn't really require a review score lol.

had to double check that was the one with Dolph in it, yeah that was pretty bad.

from what i recall i liked the ritual well enough. always get weirded out seeing wormtail jr.

Just started.

Watched Wrong Turn 2....this guy was a beast until he tried to save other peoples' lives. He was beasting. I didn't think I saw this one at first, but everything started coming back to me. I don't think I saw the 3rd one though...so I'm ready for #3 lol

Watched The Basement last night. This movie is bad. Really bad. It tries to do a twist ending, but its pointless and stupid. All around, terrible movie.

I would rather watch Welcome to Willits again is how bad this movie was.
