Just watched Crawl. It was sadly exactly as I expected from the preview. Nothing special.


Poor Barry Pepper though, dude got fucked up lol. I was kind of expecting a last second jump scare type ending when his daughter was looking back at him as the rescue chopper got closer.

6/10. Acting was spotty, but mostly okay. Gators were fucking other worldly aggressive lol. CGI was lacking quite a bit in some spots.

Didn't really care for it. Done by the same person that did Hereditary (didn't care much for that either, though liked it better than this). So, if you liked Hereditary, perhaps this might do more for you than me.

Mindless popcorn entertainment. Gator behaving like Sharks, and silly progression after they left the basement.

The Hereditary ending was dog shit

A genre-confused film that devolved itself from something special. Could have been an epic movie, but unfortunately it tried too hard.

No. You are thinking of the legendary Kane Hodder. He played Jason 5 times, Leatherface, Victor Crowley in the under-rated Hatchet series, and has been in about 1000 other horror movies!

Hodder is only 6'1" though while Glen Jacobs (wrestler Kane) is about 7' and 330#. But I'd take Hodder in my movie over Jacobs as he is a true icon in the genre.

I’m about 25 minutes into Victor Crowley. Please tell me it gets better because so far, this is beyond awful and nowhere near the quality of the first two movies.

i'd say you could do better, but watching Spring waiting for week 7 to start, and it's been a bit boring, and as i type this, it might finally start to be picking up, but perhaps not.

She’s nowhere to be found in this one. In this one, the acting is beyond bad. I can usually take that to a point but some of these people are just cringeworthy.

so this is suffering from the lack of danielle harris. again, pretty sure i've seen them all, just can't separate them all.

did watch friday the 13th part vi jason lives again in anticipation of this weeks HDTGM episode, it's still a pretty decent watch for the series.

Yeah, the main character is the Asian guy from the first one (who I thought died but it’s been so long since I’ve seen it as well that I don’t remember for certain). But definitely no mention of Danielle, unless she has a cameo at the end of the movie.

if i recall correctly, asian guy is a twin. so maybe that's where some confusion might come from, though i wouldn't put it past both of them having died in the series prior. i do know i watched this one cause i remember seeing the guy from impractical jokers in it

That was another reason I wanted to check it out. I stopped watching right around when he was first on screen. I don't know if I should keep giving it a shot or if it's just going to stay bad.

Jason in the real world, Freddy if they're in the dream world.

Gotta be Jason. He's a machine. While Freddy uses dreams and Michael prefers his butcher knives, Jason uses brute strength and/or whatever the hell he finds to kill... Garden shears, arrows, chucking people out of windows or into trees while sleeping in a sleeping-bag. He's an unstoppable force of nature.

Just ask yourself... Who would YOU rather fight out of the 3. You sure as hell aren't going to pick Jason or Freddy. Michael would be terrifying but much more manageable than the other 2.
