Of course they hope he can get back sooner. Everyone, including Klay himself, hopes he can get back sooner.

Hoping he can get back sooner and pressuring him to get back sooner are 2 completely different things.

Also, assuming they are trying to pressure him into coming back too early, in the off-season, after just agreeing to pay him $190 million over the next 5 years because they said he's "ahead of schedule" is just about as dumb as if they were actually pressuring him.

The pressure will come from GS seeing Klay recovering quickly and seeing him return to form then wondering why he isn't playing ala Kawhi and Durant. They'll feed this to the media which they will disseminate it, creating pressure on Klay to come back sooner than later.

I think the W's want Klay to come back sooner because of the DLo trade. They can see how they gel on the court so they can make a decision in the offseason as to whether to keep DLo or not.

I haven't discarded logic. I had no idea KD was listening to his own doctors. So not knowing he had his own doctors isn't discarding logic. Nice try.

To be fair though, even if it turned out that they actually did rush KD back, the circumstances were far different with KD than they are with Klay.

With KD, they were in the finals and trying to win a title. Also, it was considered all but a done deal that KD was leaving. So, in that case, there is a logical argument to be made that the Warriors were trying to get 1 more title with KD before he left and rushed him back.

I personally don't believe that happened, but at least there's a logical argument for it.

With Klay, it's the off-season and they just agreed to pay him $190 million over the next 5 years. I fail to see any logical argument for them to be rushing him back now.

I hope the Warriors don't rush Klay back. That would be a bad decision.

Well there's an ozone alert all day so I ain't going anywhere. Wanna pick a topic we can argue about? I'm bored.:heh:
Dan Gilbert is a great owner
Lebron not a good leader
Kevin Love will go into HOF as a cavalier

Go

KD had his own doctors and advisers. Sought outside medical opinions. You think Rich Kleinman is just going to be like "yeah, ok let's just trust everything the Warriors say".

Man I feel like everyone just wants to discard logic when it comes to this scenario.

You can't ignore there is pressure among doctors to see what the other doctors are seeing. If GS doctors are insisting he is healthy that could influence Durant's doctors to make a similar evaluation. Not to mention Durant putting pressure on his own doctors because he's feeling pressure from GS and the media. With the stakes so high, I could see Durant's doctors being heavily influenced by GS and the media themselves.

Then it would actually make more sense for them to want him to take his time so they can see how good D-Lo actually is and how well he fits into their offense.

Imo, the whole point of them getting D-Lo is to avoid the pressure to rush him back.

Additionally, any pressure on Klay to "rush back" will likely come from fans and the media before it will ever come from the Warriors.

I like them both. That wont do it. Really thought Boston - with Horford - should have tried to add Love.

The Celtics don't have a shot in hell of winning it all next year. Which is a bummer. And while those cheating Lakers upgraded that won't stop me from talking some trash about them. I hope they move back to Minneapolis.

GS would like to see Klay back sooner than later to see how well DLo and him play together.

They want to see how well they play together. DLo is useless if he doesn't fit in with both Klay and Curry. They need to see these 2 playing together as much as possible.

Disagree. The Warriors doctors are paid by the Warriors, so you can make the case that they would might be pressured to put the teams best interests ahead of KD's.

But, KD's doctors are paid by KD. So they are likely to feel more pressure to do what's best for KD...assuming they want to continue to be his doctors.

At this point, that isn't a concern.

Also, rushing Klay back isn't going to tell them much. Especially when considering that once he comes back, it's still going to be a little while before he's in basketball shape and has full confidence in his knee.

So, rushing him back and risking him re-injuring himself before he's 100% and they can get a true idea of how well they play together, would be pretty shortsighted.

Why would I want him rushed bac? To be right? Well, I guess, maybe...lol

That's exactly why. We know with Wiggy that's definitely the case. Jury is still out on you. But early returns aren't favorable.

If D-Lo doesn't fit, they'll trade him and likely get a nice return for him.

Whether it's during the season, during the off-season or at some point next season, they can decide to keep him if he fits or trade him if he doesn't.

Sorry, but I'm just not seeing a logical argument that supports your claim that they're rushing him back.

I disagree. Doctors don’t want to look foolish as if they can’t interprete a simple MRI or something like that. If GS doctors are insisting everything looks good, Durant’s doctors could easily be influenced by that because they don’t want to look incompetent. It is a form of peer pressure. It happens in group settings all the time. Remember in class you raised your hand if everyone else did even though you weren’t positive it was the right answer. Same thing here but with adults. We think adults outgrow this stuff but they don’t. Additionally, Durant could also pressure the doctors too because a lot of the evaluation of a patients recover is relied on by the patient to give their opinion of their progress. Durant, therefore, insisting everything feels good because GS and the media are on his back.

Teams are shortsighted and selfish. They are paying hundreds of millions for these guys to PLAY and win, it's always a motivating factor for teams to get guys to play asap. The sooner Klay comes back, the sooner he can gain confidence in his knee allowing for more quality time on the court for him and DLo. Let's also not forget that GS probably has in the back of their mind that this season could actually not be a waste and they could make some real noise in the playoffs. I'm sure GS is drooling over the prospect that DLo could have been the steal of FA, it's only natural to want to see if that's true sooner than later.

TBH, I've grown to like GS over the past year since they weren't battling Lebron. I was rooting for them to win the Finals. I would like to see them win another without Durant to solidify Curry as one the all time greats. I think Durant stole his thunder a bit and fans are forgetting how good Curry is as well as Klay.
