The score could be much worse. I think the US is just trying to kill time. They have had so many breakaway in the last few minutes and not taking advantage of them.

I think he was trying to say (same thing with the NFL) the score doesn't indicate how "dominate" a team was against their opponent... The US should be up 5 or even 6-0 right now if it wasn't for Netherlands quality goalkeeping

Exactly, and I don't know much about soccer. But when the ball, or puck, or just the play in general is in your opponent's end for most of the game, that's a pretty good indication in any sport.

The US didn't start the first 5 minutes or so of the match well at all and the Netherlands took advantage of it.. Then the switch was turned and the US took over... It wasn't the utter dominate US team by any means so credit the Netherlands for that

Rapinoe being the player of the match... I call utter BS on that one. She did absolutely NOTHING in this game except that PK goal. Sauerbrann and Lavelle did so much more

Excellent second half. We broke through and didn’t let up. Could have put a few more in....but just danced with it too much. Doesn’t matter.

I remember the Spain match....Sauerbrunn did not look good. First full game this tournament I watched and her play made me worry about the defense all the more. But she has been solid since that point. Amazingly solid. Easily mvp to me today as she was there all game against the Dutch attack.

LaValles goal....what a cracker! She is so fun to watch with the ball at her feet.

I didn't turn it on until the 10 minute mark. I knew it started at 11, but got distracted with something else.

Lavelle's goal and play along with Sauerbrunn's was much for impactful than Rapinoe, yet she gets player of the match.. Don't agree with that at all! Still can't believe Lavalle is only 24
