He's gone one way or the other, and I am at work so I am a bit everywhere, but they apparently have real interest per rapsheet. Midround pick is the gossip. Is he on the trade block, or are the Chiefs just listening to offers?

whats is the 5th & 6th year of the contract cost? He's gone one way or the other, and I am at work so I am a bit everywhere, but they apparently have real interest per rapsheet. Midround pick is the gossip.
IIRC, something in the neighborhood of 14 million or so for the team trading for him; which is comparable to what Graham just got at the same-ish age. Basically market value for a still good EDGE. I would wager a team like the Packers makes a call.whats is the 5th & 6th year of the contract cost?
Reason I ask is if those 2 years are like balloon payments & teams knows he is gonna be gone anyways. Why trade for him? Just wait for his release.
Now if the 5th & 6th year are cheap(er) years, then absolutely trade for him.
From actor Michael Rapaport...Sources: The #Chiefs have had trade talks centered around star pass-rusher Justin Houston. With Houston’s cap number and the potential to franchise tag Dee Ford, Houston appears to be a rare top pass-rusher available. Teams have been calling with real interest.

I'd probably give a 5th for him in Atlanta . We can cut Beasley , get Houston and still have enough cap room to franchise Jarrett and sign Richardson or McCourty
Yeah but by that point you may not be able to sign him ( if you're Atlanta ) depending on how everything shakes out. We've got room but not as much as other teams and you never know what the market could be for s guy like Houston . It's a risk but with the guys we've got coming back off injury and likely adding another solid piece through FA it's probably win now mode in ATL given the age of some of the key offensive guys . Tough callNo need. He's probably getting cut anyway.

That's true. Still may be worth the risk imo just because we are going to need to extend Jones ( Julio and Deon ) , Neal and Jarrett within the next few years so probably wouldn't have the cap space to pay Houston more down the line sivutd likely be a short term rental if a few years. I'd have to crunch the numbers to know for sureThe first year of a new contract is more than likely gonna have a lower cap hit for 2019 than his current salary.
