I bet you have no problem talking about the series though right?

I'm 53. I remember very well what it was like for UF back during the Dickey days. The only thing UF can hang their hat on in the rivalry is the ball sack and Meyer. Both are history. Keep talking, though. I'm easily amused.

It depends on what you think the AD's job should be. Does he serve the entire university athletic community or just football fans? Non-football student/athletes deserve nice things too.

Yes.....I know football brings in the big bucks.

Well, I'm thinking the job of the Athletic Director is athletics.
And putting in unneeded crap that limits you is counter productive to winning.

The thing about recruiting is you do not really know what you got until 1-2 years later after you get them into a real game...

Also the thing about recruiting analyst --- is that they are never wrong … if a 5 * kids doesn't pan-out they will say the coaching staff did a bad job … and if the kid plays well they say "see we were right" …

it is a crap shoot ..

True, but generally speaking, the higher the average star rating, the better players selected. Granted, they have to fit the system too to be successful.

Mullen has some work to do.

Early signing day is as good as done, with most of the big targets off the board.

FSU has the 14th ranked class
Florida has the 16th ranked class
Miami has the 37th ranked class

Arguably the most talent rich state in the country, and not a single team from the state can come close to cracking the top 10?

Combined they've signed 1 5 star and 24 3 stars
Along the same line, has anyone looked at Louisville's class? They have FIVE total commitments and their highest ranked kid is a 3 star ranked #743 nationally:
Louisville 2019 Football Commits

They rank last in the ACC.

Satterfield learned how to do more with less at AppSt. Give him much more than that and he might beat Michigan.

That might be him taking a pass on what was in the pipeline, and moving towards the 2nd signing date with his own recruits.

Seems a little odd though.

Yes.....I know football brings in the big bucks.

I've debated exactly that with many a fellow alumnus. Florida is destined for greatness as the top public U in a large and growing state. Do we want that greatness to look like UCLA, with vast National Championships across all sports, highly respected academics and a football program that is downright lethargic?
Or, do we want Florida sports to look more like Alabama - a shitty university with an unstoppable football program teaming with bandwagon retard fans sporting mullets and GEDs?

I was on the fence about it for awhile until I realized that we don't have to choose. Because of the great CFB recruiting in FL, we can be a football juggernaut as well as great at everything else. Moreover, I'm convinced the new AD will be able to figure out how to have it all.

In the next 10 years, the University of Florida will be ranked in the top 5 publics academically, win another CFB NC and maintain our dominance in other sports...and there's not a Goddamned thing the competition can do about it.

lel...welcome to my world li'l poochie.

I can't lie, Joja has been doing well across the board as well. UGAy has utilized state growth to rise in the ranks a lot. I even gave a shout out to my UWisc. friends when one major university academic rating had Joja above UWisc for the first time eva'. When I was in school, those two were at least 20 rankings apart.

Still, you and I both know the future will see UGAy winning the SEC East on UF's down years, only. It's just a matter of economics, demographics and intelligence. For the same reason The B1G and California schools are losing their edge, Florida will dominate the ugly puppies.

Winning recruiting battles in February is often overstated.

Winning games in the fall is what really counts.

Now I am not pleased at all with our recruiting. We had a couple
get flipped on us yesterday and our verbal 5-star and 5 of our 4-stars
did not sign yesterday.

I was surprised at UF, I thought they would do better. Miami and
Richt just can't keep the Home boys at home.

But with all of that said...y'all have no idea of the talent level in
this state. The competition level of the High Schools is unreal.

If you can't run, you can't play football in Florida. We have
DB's that grow on trees down here. Two-stars that would make
4-stars from cold weather states look like rookies. WR is another
position were the supply of talent is unreal.

QB isn't a good position to recruit in Florida. They lack many
fundamentals because of their talent level. Many just hope for
a broken play and then take off and run for sizeable yardage.

Others just line-up 7 yards behind the center, get the snap andrun right or left. Tht's all that's really required of them.

Linemen down here are very athletic. Just need to find some that
have strength and size to them. (Especially strength). There's
also an abundance of fatasses down here.

Don't get confused by the 'star" level with Florida HS kids.

Our two's are better than many states fours.

only a jawja fan would want to declare a winner 49 days before it really matters..... #preseasonchampsforlife
There is a lot of truth to the above.

FSU only has 19 commitments so they have plenty of room to make a move.
Florida 21 so it will be tougher but a 5 star or two can move you quickly up the bd.

It's just too early to pass judgment on most teams right now.
