I'd add knowing how to get the most out of his players and putting them in situations where they could succeed. But what do you think the Pats success is based upon ? Really innovative and complex scheming ?
As a matter of fact, yes, versatility up the wazoo. 3-4's,4-3 and all variations in between. In the same game. The offense is cooked in a similar manner.
Bellichick isn't even the only one.
Listen, what Lombardi did was at a championship level for a decade.... BUT football was different then. It's much harder to play the "this is what we do, try and stop us" type of game.
