This is a he exact kind of thinking that invites the pussy -assed scheduling that is Wisconsin' schedule. Coast through regular season play one conf. championship and you're guaranteed a spot just because the game is labeled a "conference championship."

Sorry if we sweep our Pac12 and ACC opponents at least one of them will be playing for a championship game. What say you then. Esp. If one of them wins it?

We played an independent P5 team. That would be calling our schedule pussy assed schedule if they faced Notre Dame.

Who the fuck has Miami played?

A schedule on par with Penn St.

When we beat Miami next week, it will be discounted. When OSU beats a largly unproven PSU team, the win catapults them.

If people aren't including Wisconsin on their top 4 then you probably shouldn't have Bama number 1. UGA has a vastly Superior resume and has been just as dominant .

Not sure that is true. I don't think the SEC CG knocks one team out if both enter that game 12-0
Might not be true. Two of the P5s will have to have 2 losses. The winner of the SEC CG is in, and I believe a 12-1 ACC winner is in and a 12-1 Big 10 winner is in. With the other two P5 CCs with two losses, then a 12-1 UGA/UA or a 11-1 PSU or a 11-1 ND could get in. The CFPC showed us last year they aren't interested in a CC with two losses as long as there were other teams with one loss.

I'm not discounting it yet. I'm looking towards the future. If Auburn loses to Georgia AND Bama, that win by Clemson over them by only 7 points doesn't really look that quality of a win, so that might not help Clemson in the future. You emphasize that OSU won by 1 point at home after a bye. That doesn't matter. A win over a #2 team is a win. Noone is telling Syracuse, "well that win isn't really a good win because you won by 3 and it was at home."

If Auburn beats Georgia or Bama then that win looks really good for Clemson and might make them look better but that loss to Syracuse still stings alot.

Idk if I would call only allowing 117 Total yards and 11 sacks a struggle. By the end of the year Auburn would have played 3 top 3 teams, I wouldn't hold that against them and they would still be ranked in the top 25.

I would bet on Bama to beat anyone right now, can't say the same about Wisconsin.

1. Bama
2. UGA

3. Clemson
4. Ohio St.
5. Notre Dame

6. Oklahoma

So Bama beat a unranked Texass A & M team as their best win and that clearly makes them the number 1 ranked team?

Clemson lost to a scrub team yet you have them as third when most people have them outside the top 5.

That's a different argument. If people want to put Wisky out if their Top 6 because they think they stink then they should just say that and not point at the schedule

I'm not like most people. I rank teams on who I think would win right now. (for the most part)

I don't think they stink at all but don't have enough evidence to be confident in them winning against teams in my top 6. As much people want to ignore the past and just look at this year, I don't. Teams like Bama will get the benefit of the doubt because of Saban and what they do year in and year out. Sorry but I take into account previous matchups from previous years if the makeup (coaches, star players, consistently of high rank Def/Off or low rank Def/Off over the years)of the teams are still the same.

They're 2-7. But keep puffing that chest.

They were a historically good independent opponent who happened to be bad this season. If we played Notre Dame last year then it would've still been considered a cream puff schedule because ND sucked. It's all about timing and that was poor timing for BYU.

Oh and we have ND in 2020 and 2021 so I'll wait to see if you call them cream puffs as well if we win those games.

Again, BYU normally good P5 independent team but had their worst year ever this season not our fault.

It's not your fault, but it should affect your ranking. Nobody said life is fair.

Our schedule this year ended up harder than expected especially on the back end. If we win out and that's still a big if, Wake won't lay down the Miami game will be hyped to the gills Navy always plays us hard and our reward is Stanford, those will be more than enough quality wins to make up for the lack of a conf championship.

1.) It did affect our ranking or else we would be #2 if BYU was a 3-4 loss team.
2.) Bama played FSU who is 2-5 and their best win is a TD win vs Texas A & M. Yet because they're Bama their schedule seems to be irrelevant and are still ranked #1 because they're Bama. That makes sense
3.) ND could still make it to the CFP for sure if they win out since 2 teams above them will lose.

Yes not having a conf championship does hurt but isn't the end of the world for ND since the PAC and BIG 12 are very bad. Hell, you can even argue ND deserves to go in over Clemson as well.

Clemson had one bad night (on an odd Friday night) with their backup quarterback as the starter got injured.
They have handled every other game with their first string quarterback, plus they have two top 15 win.

And they kick the shit out of Ohio State, Oklahoma, and Miami every time they play them in the last few seasons for good measure.
