HTF does 50 plus 70 plus 52 equal 159 stolen bases????? also 145 plus 153 plus 134 equal 432?

2011, he started off extremely slow because he was returning from a season ending injury...

yep, you will add it to the debit columns on both files again. This is really simple math...he has had 3 healthy seasons.

Makes no sense to ignore 2011....a large reason he stole less bases that year was because he hit for power that year (32 HR, 46 doubles). There's generally a tradeoff between power and stolen bases, so one can argue that's the case for 2011 moreso than any recovery from injury.

sure ok, count it....you are correct on your math...I was correct on mine...we were just using different numbers...fine...

still I believe Ellsbury will have 4 very good years and 3 average years with the Yanks....and that is on my assesment of what a good year is for that team...Jeter, which is who he is replacing in the lineup, has been a lock in the top slots for a while...Ellsbury will be in the top slots the next 7 years.

Here is your quote:
I stated that the 4th 100 season over 100 abs was recovering from a season ending injury....? the 3 seasons over 100 abs (or when at full strength) he lead the league in SB's actually all 3 seasons...and officially now he averaged over 63 sbs per 162 games...

How is the 3rd season over 100 ABs the 4th season?

This, I agree with - except I think he'll bet better than average for all seven years.

4 seasons over 100 AB's, he only had 4 of them

3 seasons where he lead the league in SB's, he only had 3 of them

1 season where he had over 100 abs after missing the season with an injury and started out with an injury and hamstring problems.

I think most of us agree that it's too much for too long. As far as as him not playing what most of us would consider a full season because of injuries. I don't see that. With the Sox Ellsbury pretty much had to play every day. Which increased the chances of injury in a number of ways. With the Yankees current outfield roster (and they will probably add another) I can them giving him more days off than the Sox ever could have. I can see him earning the first 3-4 years of the deal with the remaining years ending up as free pay for no work.
