1. Dont we see what really happened? Bears tried all day to trade Jay Cutler, reality set in that nobody wants him, so the only way to plead forgiveness is get him yet another weapon. This is Cutler 101, required course for any coach and GM that are stuck with him.

2. White is a really good player. does all the things that Cutler needs, goes up and snatches footballs out of mid air. If he can ever hit him in stride its gonna be a touchdown, this guy has all the marshall in traffic talent but also has 4.3 speed. He is truly a beast. All things considered, they used #7 for the BPA philosophy. Experts were really 50-50 on who the best receiver was in this class, Cooper is ready now, most think White will be the better player.

Just stick to the second paragraph. Well said, well reasoned, good job. That seemed to come from a competent, understanding football fan.

The first paragraph... From a bat shit crazy, bias, hater who can't get out of his own way of bullshit... Why do you keep doing this?

Ok, so...while I had a somewhat mixed opinion of the Marshall trade, and am generally pleased wih the white pick, something interesting to consider.

If he bears don't trade Marshall to the jets, it is not totally out of the question that the jets would have drafted White. Meaning who would have slid to #7?

Yeah, well, one of those things.

Don't do that. Someone's head will explode.

Because it pisses you off Joey, its the only reason. Why the fuck do you think I am looking for your approval on anything?

Huh? How do you conclude that? This would have been the first year of the extension he signed awhile back. Rookie contracts arent what they were a few years ago. Whites max contract value wont come close to Marshalls extension- which IIRC was 39 mil.
... Well we used a pick we could have used on making our def better, not sure what value to put on that but we also picked up Eddie Royal and White. Royel got what? 5.5 was it?. BM was my favorite Bear and I'm a grudge holder. I don't believe he was nearly the problem Rich believes and I also believe Fox could have kept him in line. I just want my team to get better, same as everyone here.

You`re right Joe.......He was not the problem, cutler was. BM was just trying to call out our failure qb.
Something someone/leader should have done long time ago.

Also,I am very pleased with White. We replaced BM with a younger and for now, cheaper stud wr........I am very pleased.
I get what you were saying in the why cut BM and then draft a wr,when BM would have just been the real fix to where we could draft a defensive gem...........

And this bpa is hogwash.........When you are drafting 7th and need a ton of help on def.,you draft bpa on defense............That's where our true need was.
But like I said..........I`m ecstatic with who we got.

Bpa is not hogwash. The draft should be used to build your roster with elite players that will be with the team in the long term. All good teams use bpa. The shitty teams in the league don't. Choose your side. Drafting lesser players at positions because of short terms needs is a great way to always make your long term roster crappier than it could be.

Bpa baby. In the long run, that's how you have a Super Bowl chance. Otherwise you are Cleveland or Washington.

Wow. It's amazing how obsessed with Cutler you and AI are. Is anything ever not about the guy? Lol

It's not an argument. The entire team said Marshall was a problem. The GM and new coach assessed he was a problem. EVERY FUCKING TEAM HE'S PLAYED FOR, INCLUDING HIS COLLEGE assessed that he was a problem.

HE WAS A PROBLEM. There isn't like some grand mystery here. You arguing he's not a problem, is absurd. It's the equivalent of walking up to a crime scene out of the blue, and telling dozens of witness's to a murder with the same correlating story, that what they saw was wrong.

it is hogwash...........And I doubt we went bpa for the fact of us trading Marshall and then turn around and draft White.
All we did was to fill another void that was created by the trade.........

What?..........You don`t think someone should call Jay out?

You don`t think jay is a problem?

Obssessed?.............Nope,not at all........But I do know trash when I see it.

Here we go once again.........what excuses did we make for him AGAIN this past season?............oh that's right,it was Trestmans fault.......sorry I forgot.:rolleyes2:

Trestman`s fault,o-line`s fault,no wrs,no coaching,no defense and the list goes on..........nope,nothing wrong with Jay.
He`s gotten everything handed to him in place and still can`t win...................(and I know defense is horrid too,but hey we had to get the bpa last night, right?)I`ve heard so many excuses that you guys have to start all over again by blaming the coach again..........sheesh.....When is gonna end?

It was not Cutler, It was not the Def, it was not the coaching, it was not the GM, it was BM. Now get that strait wood. Cutler will be fine now that we got rid of the best WR we ever had. How can you not see this. In fact when Bennett is gone I expect Cutler to take another giant leap forward. Can you say MVP.

It was not Cutler (TRUE!) It was not the Def (FALSE...it was the defense!) it was not the coaching (yes it was) it was not the GM (yeah a little) it was BM. (bowel movement?) Now get that strait wood. (Yeah get it straight!...ha that's what she said "straight wood")
Cutler will be fine now that we got rid of the best WR we ever had. (But Cutler is the best QB we've ever had...so what about THAT FACT...JACK? haha) and how is 61 for 721 "the best ever"?

How can you not see this. (I've been saying that all year... come on!)

In fact when Bennett is gone I expect Cutler to take another giant leap forward. (now you're just being ridiculous. Bennett is gonna calm down and see a great chance to play in an offense that produced Julius Thomas...and if not he'll be gone too. no worries, we have the...)

Can you say MVP. (Yep! I'll even give you partial credit for saying this- but I'll take all the credit for being a believer!)

Chicago Bears
Draft pick: WR Kevin White (No. 7 overall), DT Eddie Goldman (No. 39 overall), OL Hroniss Grasu (No. 71 overall)
Grade: A
Grade: A
Grade: A
The skinny: The hometown crowd reacted positively to the Bears' first pick, and it wasn't alone. New GM Ryan Pace grabbed a player with arguably the highest upside in the draft. Jay Cutler said goodbye to Brandon Marshall and hello to someone with the potential to be even better in White, which has to make Cutler happy even if the front office might have tried to trade him. Good luck to opposing defenses trying to defend White and Alshon Jeffrey. At times, Goldman was dominant in the middle of Florida State's defense, and John Fox is hoping that happens in the Windy City. Oregon offensive linemen have worked out well for the Bears in recent years, and Grasu should continue that trend.

The underlined,I have no clue about these guys,so I`m hoping you`re right.....

And Cutler.............who gives a shit what he thinks.

let's see, this is what AI stated:

"Dont we see what really happened? Bears tried all day to trade Jay Cutler, reality set in that nobody wants him, so the only way to plead forgiveness is get him yet another weapon. This is Cutler 101, required course for any coach and GM that are stuck with him."

Why is this "bat shit crazy?" ESPN reported that the Bears tried hard all day to get Tennessee to bite and Tennessee was simply not interested. I dislike ESPN pretty frequently, but even I wouldn't describe ESPN as "bat shit crazy." Joey....the Bears did try to do exactly this. Now, I don't think the reason they drafted White was to kiss Cutler's ass out of forgiveness...I agree that's a little ridiculous. This current management has definitely not coddled Cutler like previous regimes have, so pleading forgiveness from Cutler with your first round pick seems unlikely. But the Bears did in fact try all day to get rid of Cutler yesterday, if ESPN is to be believed at all.

Cali- come on you have to admit that MANY "reports" the days leading up to the draft are complete smoke screen. This has always been true to make other teams think you're going in one direction so they try and get in front of you if they want the same guy. Leaving the guy the Bears really want free to pick. That's been basic draft strategy for years. Also I believe these to be true:

1. Clickbait to generate traffic to websites for ad revenue. Jay Cutler nationally is a topic. hate/love generates interest= Let's write articles about him, it will get people to click/comment on our site. The more sensational the headline, the more interest with it. And if it bleeds it leads... so anything where the NFL whipping boy is portrayed as "losing his job" or "being fired" is easy.

2. Trading up into the 2nd pick in the draft is nearly UNHEARD OF! It was also reported by LOTS that it would take up to 3 first round picks PLUS players and possible late round picks. The rebuilding Chicago Bears were NOT going to give up that much (and nobody else did either) for a player that still has MANY question marks. If anyone thinks what they gave up for Jay in 09 was too much- giving up more then that for Mariota would have been GM suicide. (Even if Mariota becomes a decent pro- it would still set the team back YEARS by way of all the lost picks)

3. Many in the "I hate Cutler Camp" have this thing now where they believe that Cutler is the reason for everything. In AI's quote about pleading forgiveness... That's the BSC. (bat shit crazy) White was listed as a top 3 or 4 overall talent. Pace has said/shown that's what he's doing- BPA. White fit that perfectly.

4. Overall Trade talk of Jay Cutler: We've seen this for months- We have also known that the contract was going to be the biggest hurdle- that hasn't changed. We have also noted the lack of talent to replace him. If Pace didn't at least listen to offers he wouldn't be doing his job. We will never really know how aggressive Pace was in trying to trade him- we don't know if he initiated the talks or just took calls from those seeking a possibility. From what he's said publicly, I'm leaning to the "listened".

At this point- we have another confirmation- that Jay Cutler will indeed be the starting QB for the Chicago Bears in 2015. (This was simply another hope/wish/pray by the haters that wasn't true)

Everything I've written here was well thought out, true, and reasonable. Unlike the bias bullshit.

Everything you wrote was thought out, yes, not necessarily well though. It was also reasonable. It was not true. The fact that the Bears tried hard all day on Tennessee is not a rumor, it is a fact. Trading up into the second pick is not unheard of, why do you think this? Plenty of teams have done this, including rebuilding ones. I'm not saying I ENDORSED it, and I am glad we did not make the trade, but they did try. Again, if we were going to get rid of Cutler, I would argue we should have done it back in early March, not on draft day. But like it or not, Pace tried to unload him.

Yes, Cutler will be the QB in 2015 (and most likely 2016). But acting like the new Bears management has not been trying to dump him is like Stalin pretending Hitler was his friend. Sheer denial.
