ESPN's Adam Schefter reports LT Trent Williams' agent, Vincent Taylor, told the Redskins it's in the "best interest" to trade or release him.
"The relationship between the Redskins and Trent Williams has reached a point where it's in the best interest that the Redskins trade or release him," Taylor wrote in a statement to ESPN. The full release can be viewed in the link below. Washington has reportedly been shopping the 31-year-old left tackle ever since he requested $20 million annually, but the team's desired second-round pick in exchange has proven to be impossible to come by given Williams' demands. This situation is obviously one that isn't coming to a close any time soon. It remains unlikely Williams plays on his current deal no matter how this scenario shakes out.
I know he was a good player the last time he played football. But that was awhile ago & he has been out of football for a bit.
Would you be willing to sign him for 20 mil per year trusting he will be that same quality player coming back?
