Serious question here. If you guys played in the NBA would you flop at times to try and sell a call to the refs? I know I would if it means helping my team then why not?

No.

If you're not good enough to ball, stay the fuck off the court.

I don't even know what flopping is. Is that what that guy Lebron is accused of doing?

Back when I might have been in good enough shape to play in the NBA that would not have been necessary. After you hit a couple of j's, some guy like Jerry Sloan would have come up and knocked you on your ass.

Hahahaha. The radio call from the Pistons game was hilarious. ("I predict a Miraculous Recovery....). Champion called it, somehow, someway, LBJ made it to his feet again again.

No he's accused of selling a call. Just like football, baseball, and futbol players does as well

When you resort to flopping, it's basically saying that you can't beat the other team in a fair match up.

So Lebron or players who sometimes flop can't beat anyone fair. That's a dumb logic.

Flopping is basically trying to gain a call in your advantage. Just about everyone has done it who has played competitive sports. It might not be falling down, but even going to the basket without being touched and being over-dramatic is flopping. I will admit I have done it and I would say most have.

I answered yes because flopping is no more trying to manipulate a call then arguing you were fouled when you weren't, arguing you didn't touch a ball last when you know you did, etc...

Unless the league creates meaningful penalties for any of the above,
they will all continue to be part of the game.

I wouldn't go into any game or play with the mindset of planning to sell calls.... but in the heat of the moment it 100% WOULD happen.

The overwhelming majority of "flops" are reflexive, not pre-meditated, IMO.

This is what I've been saying all along. There's other ways to flop other than falling to the floor.

I am sure I would embellish for 2 reasons, I was not getting calls I should be getting due to my physical presence covering up the effect of the fouls and then leading to them not getting called OR if I was in a battle where every edge imaginable should be exploited.

Definitely would... Dont understand why anyone would say no...

the 2 reasons i would

1. I am not that good or big... If a bigger guy is guarding me or i was guarding him, i would want to protect myself...

2. I am a team player... If it helps my team to get a player out of the game, or if the scenario needs to draw a foul, i would be happy to do it for my teammates...
