Both teams traveled across the globe and they were there for several days.

I personally just won't accept that as an excuse. Geno played scared for 3 quarters and missed easy passes/made very poor decisions. Both lines were beat often all day.

Maybe they were too distracted with the scenery in Munich. Maybe they had family and other distractions there because of the unique travel.

I'm sure there were several factors, but the timezone nonsense doesn't fly with me.

Bullshit.

So to fly from Washington to the East Coast to catch a plane to Germany is a day in and of itself. That takes about 10-12 hours when you take into account flight time plus airport time... then you have jet lag of 3 hours, so it's a 6:30 AM vs. 9:30 AM start time.. that's huge...

When I saw this on the schedule before the season even started I was furious. The NFL clearly thought Seattle would suck this year and wanted more Tom Brady merch and figured this would be a gimme for their precious product and penciled this one in as "Well nobody in Seattle will care, they're going to suck anyway." and that was that....

You're telling me, a FULL day lost, not to mention sleeping on a plane (vs. a nice comfy hotel room with a direct 9 hour flight from Tampa) is not going to make a difference? Maybe Geno should've run up and down the aisles more...

Get the fuck outta here.

I have spent 21 hours on a plane before and it sucks, Glad this game is over and I didn't put myself through the pain of watching it going into the Hawks Bye week lol.

There is a big no a HUGE difference from Playing at 9:30 am and 6:30 am. They should try and set up games like this with teams from the same time zones, to make it fair across the board.

I actually feel bad for the Seahawks players and the Seahawks fans as this was a pretty dirty set-up for them.

They said last night on the news that the travel time was similar for both teams. So they both lost the same time to travel.

It's weak excuses to turn to timezone nonsense.

You can say anything you want. It won't change my opinion. They do not get off the hook for their poor performance for weak excuses. It wasn't the leagues fault.

You actually listen to the news and the bullshit they spew? Give me a fuckin' break dude.... "Well actually, it's roughly the same time lost to travel for both teams!" says some dork in a suit and some vagina who couldn't care less about the NFL and travel logistics/impact let alone facts, or who are simply plants for NFL publicity purposes *ding ding ding - Jesus Hector Salamanca can't ring his bell fast enough*.

Every flight to Germany from Seattle requires 1 stop, there's no direct flight (unlike Tampa)... and the timezone loss is undeniable. "Oh but the news said it's the same." :pound:

Hey - keep your opinion. It's yours. It's a shitty one, but it's an opinion... go with it. I'm sure it'll carry you far in table conversation related to football.

Edit: Wizard I'm sorry, I came off super bitchy. I'm still pissed.

It’s a legit excuse, jet lag, 5,000 mile trip playing a football game at 6:30 AM our time ! It’s no wonder they looked sluggish at first, that’s not easy, and the NFL shouldn’t have done that … Tampa was playing at 9:30 their time, less travel, little bit easier on them … Should have been 2 East coast teams the NFL set up for this… I mean Jesus we travel the most out of any NFL team almost every year anyway …

That's your response?

You look pretty weak making lame excuses for the loss. But if it helps you sleep better go for it.

In hindsight, it was an epic response... I'm pretty proud of it. Harold already informed me several SportsHoopla members have printed it and are framing it to hang up on their wall or tattoo to their firstborn.

Hopefully the team is pissed and plays like it when they come off the bye.

Sometimes a team on a long winning streak needs a wakeup call to remind them how much work it requires to sustain it.

Yah, hope so as well. We have 5 of the 7 last remaining games at home... hoping we can do something with that.

The one thing I was really hoping for today which seemed to be the case, is we did not suffer any major injuries, so we should be fully healthy going into the second half.

I can't blame the travel for the loss... Both teams had to travel and play in an unfamiliar environment... The only think I would say about that is the veteran team in Tampa had more experience/expectations in doing this vs the young team in the Hawks... They came out firing on all cylinders right away...

And it looks like TB's plan was to exploit our run defense, especially with Mone being a healthy scratch... We sure missed him today - especially with the way TB man handled us at the LOS...

Seattle's D also kind of looked like early season D. A lot of 2 down fronts.. Mone and Adams were inactive (pretty sure) and why? They were actually making some good plays over the last few weeks. Barton also seemed to get a lot of snaps (not sure of the official count) but Seattle was playing better when he was on the field 50% or less of the time, seemed like more today. Allowing the amount of rushing yards against the Bucs was pretty discouraging... We got very little pressure on Brady but I feel the Bucs had our # rushing and again not sure why....

I feel like Seattle went into this game with the mentality "Oh the Bucs rushing attack sucks... let's just play 2 down lineman and drop everyone in coverage and the Bucs meanwhile were like, "K fine, we'll take that...." and just rammed the ball down our throats.

As for the offense... fell behind fairly quick, Geno certainly didn't have a good game (yah stats are still positive but delayed snap count, sacks, misfires early on set us back - there were guys in the flat wide open he was missing, very Russell Wilson-esque), the tight end sets seemed to be abandoned.. Walker with some STRANGE run calls (up the gut too often or pitches 5 yards behind the line)....

I think either Seattle was just too tired (don't need to post again how I feel about the timezone difference) or we just got out-coached.
