Will LeBron ever be seen as better than Kobe in the eyes of Lakers fans?

What facts? all I hear from you are opinions. You can't compare numbers of today's game with numbers from Kobe's era, the league is just not as tough or as talented today. Now that's an opinion but its not baseless.
here are examples of some facts....

*First time he went to Finals his #2 was Zydrunas Ilgauskas. Starting guards in many of the playoff games were Eric Snow and Sasha Pavlovic. were you being serious? I guess if you want to pick a different #2 than Z you can. Maybe Drew Gooden? Had Hughes but hurt all the time.

*it's more often team/trainers/docs who decide if a player sits? and not like this is a Lebron thing.

*It'a a fact you said Kobe better Laker than Lebrion due to his rings as a Laker....so I asked if the Cavs win a title this year will that make Tristan Thompson a better Cavalier than Lebron? You wont answer

*Haven't used this one yet but will now....you said Kobe more clutch when in clutch situations Lebron is far more clutch than Kobe.

And, yes, it's baseless to think players from today are less tough and certainly less talented. Latter is just absurd.

I said Kobe is the better player which makes him a better Laker than LeBron. LeBron is not more clutch although I don't recall saying that before so if you are going to quote me do it right. You need to watch a Lakers game from the 90's 80's and early 2000 and watch the level of play from those players. Today's game is boring and the payers are not as good. The game is not fun to watch anymore because of that.

Your first comment is 100% opinion. If you were not the one who said Kobe more clutch, OK...but now you have and he's not.

I'm in mid 50s so have watched many a game in those times...and, hell, many Lakers as back in 80s had way fewer games and nearly all were from among Celtics, Lakers and Philly.

OK, pretty much all your comments were opinions Most funny is thinking today's players not as good.

Another fact: resting players for the playoffs has been a thing since at least the 80's. Riley used to do it with the Showtime Lakers once their playoff position was set. Now, they spread it out more over the course of the season.

Yep....been going on in NFL for years, too, once seeding set.

That's all I have given, my opinion. to have it assaulted like this was a surprise until I figured out its political with some of you here. Which I find hysterical. I guess everything now is political with some people.

Assaulted? You offered an absurd opinion refutable with logic, facts and reason. I mean, if someone said their opinion was Mark Madsen a better Laker than Kobe that person might get a little pushback, too.

You know no one "assaulted" your opinion you like Kobe better, right? we like who we like.

No one but you has mentioned this being 'political'

You are trying to suggest to people who know the sport very well that Kobe had a better career than LeBron. This is refuted by simple facts of the record of what they did on the court. You are letting your emotions about which player you like pull you to make incorrect evaluations of the careers of these guys.

You love Kobe, good for you. Many others agree with you, he is more likeable in many ways than LeBron and certainly a Lakers fan it's no surprise or shame in it. No one is pushing back on you liking Kobe more, or him being the greater Laker. The opposition is to you making false statements about who was better at basketball. Kobe was an all time great. LeBron is noticably greater.

'assaulted' LOL

You had better look back to yesterday. I was accused of disliking LeBron due to politics. Which I find ridiculous.

Right, fair point, I think it was me who accused you of hating LeBron for political reasons....this is me admitting error, something you have yet to do

The reason I went there yesterday was that for so many others (not you clearly) they are always ripping LeBron and minimizing his greatness because they allow their politics to affect how they enjoy sports...glad that's not you.

And it's not us here either, for the most part. You saying "I figured out its political with some of you here" is not correct, I falsely accused you of that, it's not how most of us regulars here operate.

None of this has anything to do with who was a better player, nor who you might like more. As has been explained to you many times, you are allowed to have the opinion that Kobe was better. We are allowed to respond to that with facts showing it's a mistaken opinion every bit as much as saying Bradshaw was > Rodgers (Bradshaw was also more likeable and had more rings, and stayed with one team, and played in a supposedly 'tougher' era...doesn't make him better)

Saying it isn’t as tough?

Ok.

Saying it isn’t as talented?

Baseless and not supported by data. Kobe’s era was actually quite possibly the worst era of the NBA.

You had the stagnant ISO based offenses from the 90s without the generation of great players from the previous time. Offensive basketball was kind of trash in the early 2000s.

Ironically, throughout Kobe’s prime there were fewer superstar players than literally any other modern era and Kobe still only managed 1 MVP.

That should tell you something.

I made no error. I think Kobe was the better player and I've explained why I feel that way. You disagree and that's fine and I thank you for your opinion.

you are definitely allowed to have a wrong opinion.....even ignore logic, facts and reason to refute your opinion.

Yes LeBron is more clutch. Here's a stat you can choose to ignore. All I did was type in- who hit a better percentage of clutch shots at the end of games LeBron or Kobe. This is some of the info that appeared.

LeBron has made more game winning buzzer beaters in the playoffs than anyone else.

And if you don't like today's game stop watching and stop commenting about it.

Um...OK.....but he's missed many of them and in playoffs is incredibly bad shooting these type of shots (Lebron much better in that regard..not that you care about actual facts). This was 2022, I believe. Not sure if Lebron has added any since but at this time he was 7-16 with these type of shots. Kobe 5-17.

By the way a real buzzer beater shot is taken as the buzzer is sounding off and Chat GPT says LeBron had 7 in his career and Kobe had 5. LeBron is a 21 year veteran and counting and Kobe played for 20. Just for perspective.

So even more data showing your player evaluation opinion is wrong
