No doubt that Cleveland added a lot of talent after the Mayfield pick. I've read several articles that have suggested that they've built the team wrong - Letting a few core folks at important positions walk.... But some of this is probably people just looking for reasons why they have failed. My hunch is that it had much more to do with coaching. We'll see this year I suppose.
Letting Zeitler go for more defense was a huge mistake I think. Like we keep preaching as Bengal fans this off season. If you are going to take a franchise rookie QB, you had better protect him and you give him a leg up on success and confidence. They had that on that line year one, they did not last year, and what a difference in that offense. I know coaching had to do with that also, but Kitchens called offensive plays both years, but the difference was the playbook they revised.
Browns have to go offensive line this year. Bengals need at least one more good Offensive lineman to insert from FA, along with Williams coming back, some 2nd year player growth and maybe a drafted prospect this year.
I think Burrow can have a great rookie season if they protect him, build the offense to suit his strengths, and keep his weapons on the field. Now, how much he will have to score to keep pace with what the defense is surrendering, that is another story.
