To me, this one is a no-brainer. Unless he takes a below-market deal to return to the Lakers, Kuzma is an empty stat-padder that's about to destroy some team's payroll.

I will say that if the Pacers sign him, I will officially be on the Fire Pritchard bandwagon...

Just these two players? I’d take Kuzma in a heart beat. He’s not a star but he can be a really solid role player on a contender and a starter. Dillon Brooks isn’t that guy. His defense is overrated and he shoots his team out of games.

Brooks has a place for a reasonable amount. If the rumor he wants 25 million is accurate then hell no.
Brooks is less talented bigger distraction Tony Allen and he never got over 5 a year. You want to toss in some inflation and pay Brooks 8? Sure if the rest of your team can score.

Kuzma is replacement level, I do like that he increased his assist rate the last few years adding some new value. I have no idea what he was seeking.

If it was I could have either for 8 a year who would I take? I would take Kuzma.

Agree with the others.

I'm not giving either one of them a bag. But if the market is in the $8-$12 million range, I'm taking Kuzma. He's better, more versatile and less of a distraction.

Kuzma is going to want a bag. I wouldn't be willing to give him that. He's like the modern version of Rudy Gay. Good player, but he's never going to be more than what he is.

Brooks is a role player that thinks he's a star. That's detrimental to the team. I wouldn't be willing to give him anything more than a MLE on a short term contract at that.

If the opportunity was to spend big on those two guys, depending on roster construction I would rather spend that money around on two other lower tier quality players.

Kuzma doesn’t know how to be, or seem to want to learn to be a role player though.

He is your quintessential good player on a bad team guy. Not worth chasing in free agency.

Brooks?

Also not impressed at the total package. But in the right environment with the right leadership I think he has a valuable skill set and could be salvageable.

Not giving either player a bag.

Kuzma is far better, but I actually think Brooks is more likely to fit into a valuable role on a good team someday.

With the right top two guys I think he would be willing to play that third guy in a delusional Big 3 he builds in his mind. I think he could be really good on a contender.

Sure you have when he was a Laker in the bubble and he was the 3rd guy to LeBron and AD. I think he has better game now then he did back then.

Easy, potato salad + bacon bits

Both players want larger roles and bigger paychecks than a contending team will want to give them.
