Surprised that no one has thrown the Seahawks name into the thick of things here as a good fit for the Hawks... Since Carroll has been here in Seattle, all our starting QB's have been black once Hasselback was replaced... T. Jackson; Russell Wilson; Geno Smith... ;)
They just overpaid Geno....

25 mill and an out after one year is hardly an overpay in the current market. C'mon DJ.
Didn't realize they had an out after 1 year.

I am no math genius. But, didn't he sign a 3 year deal worth 105 mill? That would be 35 mill per.

It was 25-26 base with a bunch of incentives and they were all exceeding last season's numbers which he is nowhere close to. It's essentially a 2 year deal but they have an out with a smaller cap hit after this year. The 3 year/ 105 is the usual BS number thrown out there by agents and the media.

Back to the Fields take, I would rather the Seahawks just lose more games and find a way to trade up for one of the top 4 QBs in the draft. Maybe they hit, maybe they miss but I don't want a project like Fields. We need someone who can read defenses and get the ball out on time.

Ok.

I wasn't privy to the particulars....just remember when he signed it was 3 years for 105.

Thanks for clarifying.

He's not a project. He's played 35 games. Just a bum.

I mostly agree but Duh Bears, y'know. Not totally giving up on him yet because maybe the right coaching can make him serviceable. Chicago has a way of fucking up the QB position even worse than the Jets. Had he landed in a situation like Lamar, we might have seen something different.

12 TD's to 6 picks is the same

As

7 to 8?

LOL.
I don't look at smallnsample size with young QBs

Career wise they're the same guy arm wise

Ridder 83 QB rating
Fields 82

TD to Int is 1.25 to 1 for Fields
1.1 to 1 for Ridder

Most of the other numbers are similar

The only truly big discrepancy is Ridder is a top 6 QB in the league in the 4th quarter with a 103 QB rating while Fields ranks 34 out of 36 qualifiers

Ultimately neither guy is very good right now

Eh, I think Cousins fits much better in Atlanta than Fields. I could see Fields land somewhere to be a backup next year.
Yesterday's Cousins, sure. But next year's Cousins is a 36-year-old coming off a torn Achilles.

R Wilson was a bum last year. Do you think Fields’s coaching has been good?
