It's tough to pick between these two because they are both Goliaths and I like rooting for the underdog when the Giants are not involved. I will root for the Cardinals because they are the NL team, they are the lower payroll team, and they have very good fans. Also, if an East Coast team like the Red Sox win, we will never hear the end of it on ESPN and other media outlets.

Yeah this one is tough to choose. I was just rooting for anyone but LA so now that that's happened I'm meh about it.

Don't want St Louis to be considered the NL dynasty, that's supposed to be us! But yes their fans are pretty cool, and they aren't low payroll but they aren't megabudget either.

I probably won't follow it each game like I have been so far, I wanted Detroit to win out of the final 4.

I wanted Detroit as well, but since they are not there I am rooting for the Cards. The Red Sox have Victorino, that right there is reason enough to root against them.

Red Sox, no question about it.

This is an excellent point, there's the tiebreaker right there :agree:

I see nothing wrong with that post, so I am not sure if you are saying you are rooting for Boston or St Louis...

Just felt it sounded like many of the new Redsox fan base. May not have been meant that way. Just the way I read it. He wouldn't trade a first round draft pick now .... but go back a few years and he would have. If I go back a few years I'm nearing a 2 time CY pitcher ..... 4 years brings me one year removed .... from the award .... would take a bit more than a 1st round pick a few years back ....

This year there's no 'stories' to sell for the WS. Both long time franchises, who've won fairly recently, no particular players to hope they get a ring, etc. Unless you are a fan of either team you really don't care.

I am rooting for StL, but not in a major way. Whoever wins will be getting their 3rd ring of the century, so that is bad.

If StL wins, they can boast "2 in 3", so our "2 in 4" will sound weak in comparison.

If Boston wins, well, it is Boston...

I'm still rooting for the Giants in the WS. One can still hope, right? We are still the champions until someone dethrones us. And I am beyond ecstatic that it won't be the Doggies.

I dislike the Cards, but I am going to stick with the NL to represent over those DH-ing wannabes from the junior circuit.

While that was horrible, is there a statute of limitations here? Do the Bruins, Celtics, Patriots, Revolution, Boston College, Harvard all get rooting rights out of sympathy?

I really don't care and probably won't watch every game. I wanted a TB/PIT series, and once those two were out, I only cared which team *didn't* win a ring (any ring - not even an NL ring).

Since the last time the doggies won a WS, they haven't won a SINGLE ring of any kind, while the Giants have won 4 : two NL champs and two WS rings. BWA HA HA HA HA!
