I really don't care and probably won't watch every game. I wanted a TB/PIT series, and once those two were out, I only cared which team *didn't* win a ring (any ring - not even an NL ring).
Since the last time the doggies won a WS, they haven't won a SINGLE ring of any kind, while the Giants have won 4 : two NL champs and two WS rings. BWA HA HA HA HA!
This year there's no 'stories' to sell for the WS.
There are plenty of stories
Yeah, plenty to sell to St Louis fans (like yourself) and Boston fans...
Just know that the rest of the country has little to no interest in this one. And frankly that's true every year, unlike the NFL, baseball is a pretty regional sport.
Unless you have a MAJOR story for the WS (Tampa making it, Giants going for their first in 56 years, Sox breaking their drought (either Sox team), Astros or Rangers making it for the first time, etc) There is no national draw.
This year there is no national draw. Last year there was no national draw. '11 had no national draw.

Even 2010 had very poor TV ratings, IIRC. You just made me remember something. During the 2010 WS, the highest TV ratings outside of the the Bay Area and the Dallas-Fort Worth area was St. Louis, and I remember admiring the St. Louis fans for that. They just love baseball and tuned in to watch a series that no one else besides the Rangers and Giants fan bases cared much about. Even more reason for me to cheer them on in addition to the ones I listed in my original post. Go Cards!
Do they get rings when they win the NL?
Im rooting for a hydrogen bomb to be dropped in the center of the field while both teams warm up
I have the utmost respect for the Cards and their fan-base. Even after '87 and after the Holliday slide, I still like the org and the fans.
I just don't want them stealing the "2 in 3" credo from us.
This World Series literally has Zero appeal to me. I would rather watch paint dry then the Cardinal and Red Sox again.
Well, shit. How many times are we going to hear "Boston Strong" during the Fox masturbation of the world series?
