Here's what bugs me about all this. What if Mercedes laid off the pitch and it turned out to be a ball, or the pitch after that. Then the whining would be about why he's taking a walk in a game that's already a blowout. And yes, that swing resulted in a homer, but it could have just as easily resulted in a pop up, a harmless grounder, or some other type of out. So friggin' stupid.

Memo to Tony: Stick to managing, once you got that down pat, you can then focus on kissing up to the opposition.

Dude hits a homer and now he’s playing hero ball out there. If we go up big and they throw another fat position player on the mound I want Lamb to call his shot while staring down LaRussa. This is the way.
