Where will Lilliard get traded to?

If, as seems to be expected, Dame stays at least 1 more season to see if the Blazers can make improvements, it would seem that they'll have to move CJ. The question is, what can they get for him? Also, which FA can they get to come to Portland?

here’s what my old kffl friend and I came up with.

basically let everyone walk besides powell.

trade jones, little and elleby to Indy for lamb (Indy is going to have to pay Holliday next summer and probably can’t afford to pay both lamb and him).

trade cj in a Tobias Harris deal

sign gorgui dieng with the mle.

then dame needs to get out to recruit some vets to join up with them.

This still isn't nearly enough and it doesn't change much. Same type of team as they have now. A team good enough to finish top 5 in the West and win 1 series. Also I'm never trading 3 players to acquire 1 role player

He’s just going to be a year older and Portland will be a year behind getting started on a rebuild.

We'll see. You have to remember, Dame has zero leverage. It's not like he's on an expiring deal. Technically, the Blazers don't have to do anything.

As others have said, it's highly unlikely that he tries to "Harden his way out".

Most likely. But, it's not like he's in position to really be able to force a trade.

Honestly, I'll be a little surprised if they can keep him and put a contending roster around him. But the Blazers hold all the cards, so it's up to them.

I don't think so either. Harris is a perfect 3rd option if they can add somebody to play Robin to Philly''s Batman.

CJ is a very good player, on the same level as Harris. And I believe Philly could use a guard scorer who can create. CJ is a top 10 player at the leagues most talent rich position. He just has to play out of position because he is teamed with arguably the leagues best PG.

Also, Harris would fit better with Dame than CJ does.

I doubt there's a way to do it (plus, if I'm the Blazers, I wouldn't want to)...but I think CJ would be a great addition to the Lakers.

CJ would be a great addition to a lot of teams.

He is a very good player. Underrated because he has been in Dame’s shadow and has a very similar skill set.

I would love to see what he could do playing on a good team as the lead guard.

They're not going to do that. Trading Bam to acquire Dame doesn't make sense. Leaves them in a similar position and doesn't improve them much. Knicks, Sixers, and Celtics have a much better chance imo

I disagree.

they remove a lot of awful defenders from a historically bad defensive second unit.

it has run protection and a lot a help defense and plenty of spacing

it’s good enough to build something with. Plus they have all their firsts after this year to get a holiday type when the next one is available
