Michael Sam will get drafted. Mark my words. He's just not a seen as a top 100 talent. The guy recorded 11 sacks in 2013, Clowney only had 3. It will be ironic if the 49ers draft him.

I think it is some of both, there will be drama surrounding him and guaranteed some players aren't ok with it so that means trouble in the locker room, but fortunately he's not that good of a player so teams can say that it's only because of that.
If he thought it would help him by creating this circus leading up to the draft, I think he might need to think again........If he would have kept quiet about it, he would have bettered his chances IMO.....

If he doesn't get drafted, it will probably be because he's not good enough for the NFL.

If he does get drafted, there will be a bunch of cavemen (including many on here) who claim that it was only for PR reasons.

This ^^. The guy is a coin flip just like dozens of other late draft picks/UFAs. Whether he gets drafted or not he'll get a shot or 2 and there will be overreactions coming from every direction.

He will be picked up, but not likely until at least the 6th round. Doubt he slides all the way to UDFA, but even then someone will pick him up.

I think the bigger question is if he is drafted and cut before the season starts will people see it as his skill set just not being there or not.

So he plays on passing situations, rushes the QB...but SEC Player of the Year and you call him no good? In the NFL there is 11 players trying to stop the run, Sam would be but one of them.

IF he wasn't gay would teams be passing over a player with that award in their back pocket from less than a year ago?
