What is Kevin Love really worth these days ?

Rumors will fly about soft and cuddly Kevin Love in Boston. I really dont want the guy on my team if it means giving up much. OK, a 4 that plays the three and rebounds, but cannot defend a 5 or even some 4's. Does not create offense on the dribble, does not want the ball in crunch time. Opinions?

Love has certainly fallen from grace, guy was such a talent at 1 time then he went to Cleveland.

I am not sure its the Cleveland effect or not. Just not sure. In Minny he could be an offense threat, did not get used as a shut down D guy, and was not expected to take over a game. Maybe Lebrons need to drive the middle impacts him, maybe, but that does not explain his soft D.

I would take him for a first rounder. I may throw in a Smart, but no more than that. After that, I would think its better to draft a 2/3 year project/star and pick up a great big defender in FA.............plenty are coming free this year

I argued up and down these boards that he was better off taking the trade to GS than Cleveland and that he fit their offense better.

It has to eat at him that he could have been on that roster right now. Sure, they'd be without Bogut, Barnes, and some other scrubs but they'd most likely still be a title team.

Love made me appreciate Chris Bosh. What is happening to Love, is what a lot of people thought was going to Bosh when he joined the Heat and became the 3rd option.

My point is that I've made my opinion know about Kevin Love as early a 2010 but can't post a link because CBS has no boards.

Kevin Love is still a great talent and could be a focal point of a team. HOWEVER, he would need the roster to be catered around him. The problem with the Cavs is that Kevin Love would be incredibly great in the pick and roll on offense, but the Cavs rarely use him in this capacity. They usually run a Lebron and Kyrie P&R, and isolate Love.

I think there are a few teams where he would really excel with them. The Wizards, Raptors and Grizzlies would all be great fits. It just depends on the situation. He's never going to be a great defender. He'll need a strong PG and a defensive minded center in order for him to be in an ideal situation.

But, for the Celtics, he's worth #3.

Lots of talent, at positions the Celtics don't need, are available with the third pick.

Unless they have some trades set up to thin the herd, they can't take another guard like Murray or Hield.

Those guys are great shooters. But, they are not pg's and are smallish for.the 2.

They could go boom or bust with Dragon, Elleson, Chriss, Brown....

It's gonna take awhile for those guys and you still don't know what you have in Olynyk.
