was a good discussion going on in the "other" forum. ......Who is better between AD and Jokic. A few laughed at even the suggestion, but when the person supporting Jokic made his case he definitely swayed some to thinking it's at least a fair discussion. Did say AD better for the lakers and I agree.
You at the other place?

Not sure how much he'll be slowed down but thinking AD is getting the most time on D and not those guys.

That makes sense. Put their best defender on the Joker. The very real possibility of the Lakers in the Finals sucks. I just don't see the Nuggets pulling off an upset.

They can slow him down, but he was still pretty good against Gobert.

They aren't going to stop him. He's too good. He'll get his points. They need to make him work for every point and rebound he gets. The Clippers really only had Zu and Harrell to defend against him.

The Lakers have 4 different guys they can throw at him and each one gives him a different look to contend with. The Lakers shouldn't need to double him much, which should also cut down on some of his assists.

Gotta go with AD for obvious reasons but I mean we are comparing a #1 pick and freak coming out of UK with a 2nd round pick that has transformed into a big we've rarely seen in the NBA...he can do everything and unathletic for the most part. Different players but Jokic is cementing himself as a top 2 center in the league imo. I would take him over Embiid for many reasons. I count AD as a PF but if we are putting him at center since he's playing that more...Jokic is top 3 still.

And Zubac and Harrell were awful at the pick n roll defense...awful lol

The NBA's worst case scenario is a Nuggets/Heat Finals. Ratings and all that. I bet midway through the 1st quarter of each game Jokic and Murray both have two fouls. I'm saying the fix is in before game one tips off. Who's with me? :noidea:

If I'm picking for a random team I think I'm taking Jokic. admittedly, durability would play a factor in my decision.

Sure the Lakers have four different guys to throw at him. Problem is three of 'em suck (mic drop!). Joker will be living at the FT line. Where he's 80+ %.

Jokic is 2 years younger. Tough either way but I'm still taking AD. AD is still better at everything other than his passing ability.

You know who I feel sorry for in this series? MPJ. At some point he'll be on the floor with LeBron and will have to guard him. Kid's gonna get ran da fuck over.

Stats-wise and win-wise AD has had the upper hand this season against Jokic

Not sure how much he'll be slowed down but thinking AD is getting the most time on D and not those guys.

I doubt it actually.

A couple reasons:

1) Those other guys, McGee and Howard don’t match well with Millsap or and of Denver’s options who might play 4
2) This is a series where the Lakers can and will play their bigs.
3) I don’t think the matchup on Jokic matters as much as matchups on everyone else. He and the nuggets are at their best when he is drawing help and creating for teammates. I think the best game plan for the Lakers is to contain Murray, shut everyone else down and make Jokic try to be a scorer.

He can and will win a game or 2 exploiting those matchups, but I don’t think he can win 4 that way. Just not how he plays.
