He got traded cause minny didn’t wanna pay him 25m per
Which isn't his max; he wasn't even pursuing his max.

I could see the Lakers resigning Russell, Beasley and Bamba each for under their cap holds. Beasley seemed to have accepted that fate as he said he would negotiate to stay with the Lakers. Bamba's hit isn't as attention-grabbing at $10M, so maybe he slides by. Maybe 3/$60-65M for Russell, 2/$20-25M for Beasley?

It would be nice to get Rui locked in early under his $18M cap hold too if possible.

Yeah, I get that $50 million is a lot to walk away from. But I'm not a billionaire, that's why it's hard for me to even fathom someone turning that down.

Unless someone else here is a billionaire (and if you are...PM me about a job. lol) they can't fathom it either.

But when I give it some thought...if I already was a billionaire, I was down to my last season or 2 and I had to go from being paid $50 million to $12-15 million to play those last 2 seasons with my son? Yeah, I could see doing that.

I'd just start charging him rent. lol

The NBAPA might take issue with that too. Setting that kind of precedence could really extend pressure on others to take less. Not that others have kids entering the league per se, but to take exceedingly less to get to the team of your choice.

It's Lebron. He's is a big reason the NBAPA has the level of power they do.

They'll take the circumstances into account and will let it slide.

Remember the bubble when there was question about whether or not they were going to play and any player that was asked said..."If Lebron says we're playing...we're playing"?

They played.

Yeah that’s my point.

Minny traded him rather than pay him well less than the max

Beasley has a team option and Bird rights
Bamba is non-guaranteed, Bird rights

Could see the option turned down and both negotiated to smaller contracts to come back (D-Lo too). Rui and Reaves will be back at whatever the market decides. They can offer Walker about $7.8M. Gabriel is UFA, early-Bird.
