The Lakers were due for a bad/flat game and Denver didn't want to go down 3-0. AD played like a 7 foot shooting guard instead of attacking the rim. He needs to be aggressive and attack the paint, that will open up the rest of the offense. The Nuggets have no answers for him inside.

They also decided to wait until the 4th quarter to actually play defense. Gotta jump on them early with the defense so they don't get comfortable.

that's the part that kinda pisses me the most. AD can be nearly unstoppable...when he WANTS to be...

Same with Lebron. They didn't have the energy, they didn't play good defense, they couldn't knock down shots and still almost came back. You can't give this Nuggets team life.

Sounds like you can't give this Lakers team life based on the bolded statement above. Lakers were outplayed the majority of that game, still could've pulled it out but just couldn't hit 3 pointers (26%) or free throws (63%) last night and didn't rebound worth a crap (outrebounded 53-34). That rebounding stat points directly to effort, and the Lakers simply didn't bring it until it was basically too late. They hadn't been outrebounded since game 1 of the Houston series.

Vogel’s rotations were stupid.

Howard needs to start game 4. He is averaging 14 minutes a game and he is +23 over the 3 games.

He is by far the best option to guard Jokic and the team plays with energy while he is on the court.

Howard needs to play at least 20, and maybe 25+ minutes from here on out.

I don't know that he will last that long, which is why he is saved for the second half. He has 4, 5, and 4 PFs in 16, 13, and 14 mpg respectively in this series. If Howard could stop the stupid fouls and cheap shots, sure.

This is it exactly. No extra effort on defense and rebounding until the game was nearly out of hand (ended up just out of reach). Poor 3 pt and FT shooting didn't help, but it was all just poor effort by the Lakers, at least in comparison to the Nuggets.

They were out-rebounded by 19!!!! Plus, AD didn't get his first rebound till the 4th quarter and only finished with two.

Turnovers were terrible too.

And on top of it all, once they finally started playing some defense and turned a 20 point deficit to only 3 points, they started taking terrible shots.

Plus, I know they're one of the older teams in the league but it just seems like their tempo is soooo slow. Most possessions end up with a desperation shot with 2 seconds to spare.

I forget who it was (maybe Cowherd) saying that in the Lakers 10 wins in the playoffs, they have shot well from 3. In the 3 losses, they haven't. Imo, the difference is that in the games they won, they were attacking the paint, which opened up the 3. In the games they lost, they weren't attacking the paint as much so the 3's they were shooting were either while being guarded or they were hurried to beat the shot clock.

That should never happen. The Lakers should never lose a rebound battle, let alone by 19 boards.
